The speed limit indicator light no longer shows speeding cars there speed over the 25 mph limit because the lamps are not working/ burned out. This was commented a while ago but nothing has been done and it’s now in worse condition.

An accident occurred this past weekend - a car struck the median traffic light and monument. There has been no news on the cause or the person injured. Why isn’t the City acknowledging this recent accident at an intersection which continues to be dangerous for pedestrians and vehicles. A school crossing as busy as this one, with the history of accidents and near misses must be dealt with now. The City proposed bandaids, not real solutions, over two years ago. There has not been follow ups nor neighborhood communication. Meanwhile the City spends $ on permanent speed bumps on Chestnut street and ignores serious pedestrian safety issues on Broad.

The City is contributing to “ demolition by neglect” of an important part of Salem’s history. It’s leaders talk of providing much needed housing but this project remains stalled to bureaucratic neglect. Our new mayor must get this moving. It’s a eye sore, infested, and attracts and promotes vandalism IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!

The old Senior Center at Broad has been neglected by the City for years. There are many dangerous issues about this building - falling deteriorated building parts, extreme vandalism, squatting, loitering, etc.
The City must do something now to address this. Either sell it so it can be turn into much needed housing or fix it up for City use.

Thank you for the safer located sign at Broad and Pickering. Could you now remove less safe sign location sign?

Apparently truck drivers consistently ignore No Trucks signs on entrances to Broad and Dalton. This is one of many examples of the size of tractor trailers that routinely use Broad to avoid traffic lights and traffic circles near our neighborhood. We must have prominent signs at each entry and, most importantly, ENFORCEMENT!

this is NOT a duplicate issue. The wall along Broad Street is now in worse shape than ever. Bricks have fallen on the sidewalk in a new area of the wall. The wall along Pickering is also in worse shape and poses hazards to pedestrians using public sidewalk. cones have been there for over a year. Caution tape is hanging from the fence in tatters. there is garbage all over the sidewalks and behind the wall causing rodent issues in the neighborhood.
We have been more than patient with the Owner(s) but they do nothing. Time fir the City to step in and force them to fix their issues.
the Board of Health and Fire Department (fire hazard)representatives should also do a check to see the rotting garbage being dumped, by the owner, in the yard.

4th large truck speeding down Broad Street. How about some enforcement!

Nips, full bottles of vodka and six pack plastic rings all tossed into the street in front of Steve’s liquor store. Going into catch basins. They should be responsible for cleaning this up. Nips must have deposits.

The Memorial at Broad, Flint and Dalton has been neglected for many years. The bushes are overgrown, the adjacent tree is dead and the graffiti that was perpetrated years ago( disgraceful!) has not been thoroughly removed. The Memorial itself is so hidden that this may be how the graffiti was done without someone noticing it driving by. I would bet Neighborhood and all of Salem would welcome honoring our citizens service by having the City pay a little attention to this civic place.
