S 5th Ave & E Madison St Ann Arbor, MI, 48104, USA - Ann Arbor
I see on the street closures web page that the closure of South 5th Ave. and East Madison, originally scheduled to end in April has now been extended to late June. These closures are creating gridlock conditions at times on Packard and South Main Street as north-south traffic that normally use 5th Ave. is detoured to Main. Traffic backs up on Packard, 5th Ave. north of Packard, 4th Ave., and South Main to the point where nothing moves for multiple light changes. The timing of traffic lights at Packard and 5th, Packard and 4th, Packard and Main, and Main and Madison need to be adjusted to reflect the change in traffic flow. In addition, the city needs to put serious pressure on the contractors involved to complete their work on this project without any further delays.

S Division St & E Washington St Ann Arbor, MI, 48104, USA - Ann Arbor
The utility work on N Division finished many weeks ago, but the signs warning of lane closures still remain. In fact, there are 5 of them - these two at E Washington, a Right Lane Closed Ahead sign at E Liberty, and two Work Zone Begins signs at E Huron. This is confusing for motorists who may think they need to merge left for a non-existent work zone. This happens all the time with road work in the city. One would think that one item on a work-completed inspection would be "Construction sign removal."

This pile of old tires has been sitting on Foxway Dr. for weeks. It appeared at the same time as drainage pipes and heavy equipment showed up for some kind of project along the edge of Buttonbush Park. The tires are an eyesore and whoever left them there needs to be held accountable and clean them them up.

There are long stretches of sidewalk in the Foxfire neighborhood that have become icy because they weren't properly cleared and residents have not applied deicer. However, the city sets a terrible example by not properly maintaining the sidewalk in front of Foxfire North Park. It is get slicker everyday as the the snow gets packed and refreezes. Please send a crew out to clear the sidewalk in front of the park.

Please remove the construction barrier blocking the left lane of Beakes St. at the intersection of Beakes and Summit. It serves no purpose other than to force traffic to make a sudden merge into the right lane and to obscure motorists' vision of pedestrians in the crosswalk. This is another example of an annoying tendency of city contractors to leave construction signs up well after the work is done, causing confusion and, in this case, a real hazard.

I originally posted this message on 6/4/21. On 6/22/21, you said it would be taken care of by the end of that week and closed the issue. It still hasn't been taken care of as of 7/5/21. Please don't close issues until they are actually resolved! Please remove "Right Lane Closed Ahead" and right lane closed graphic construction signs from N. 5th Ave. at Kerrytown. These signs have been up for months - long after the lane closure they refer to was re-opened. Leaving them up with no lane closure is confusing. Picture shows the graphic sign at the Kerrytown crosswalk. The other sign is at the corner of 5th and Kingsley.

Our park has become a dumping ground for unwanted items such as the closet doors in the picture as well as furniture, toys, bikes, etc. The neighborhood association has sent around emails telling folks to stop and providing alternative places to get rid of stuff, but the practice continues. It might be helpful if the Parks Department could put up a large, very obvious, "no dumping" sign next to the park sign. Thanks!

  • 2146-2224 Traverwood Dr Ann Arbor, MI, 48105, USA - Ann Arbor
Whatever equipment is being used to clear the sidewalk on the east side of Traverwood and the south side of Huron Parkway between Traverwood and Nixon is leaking a lot of oil or fuel onto the sidewalk. The grease spots shown extend the length of the Traverwood sidewalk. When the sidewalks are wet, you can see an oily sheen for the length of both sidewalks. Of course this is all washing into the stream and ponds adjacent to the sidewalk. I marked this as repair needed because none of the categories apply. What is really needed is for the city to contact whomever is responsible and get them to clean up the sidewalk and repair their equipment.
  • 2401 Placid Way Ann Arbor, Michigan - Ann Arbor
For the past month or so, there have been two small traffic cones placed in the center of the sidewalk through the park - one at the south entrance and one at the north. I think the cone at the south entrance says "City of Ann Arbor" on it. Did the City place these cones? If so, what is their purpose? Are we not supposed to use the sidewalk? Are they warning of some hazard? If so, they aren't very helpful. The sidewalk could use some repair, but if that is the reason for the cones, the City should make a better effort to clarify why they are there and what the City plans to do about the sidewalk.

Thank you for repaving Foxfire subdivision! But, the workers have left and the worst section of street in the neighborhood was not resurfaced. I am referring to Omlesaad Dr. between Foxway and Dhu Varren Rd. This is the most heavily traveled section of the neighborhood and the surface of the road here is a mess. Please come back and fix it!

Traverwood Dr. is badly in need of resurfacing. Several years of construction activity and multiple patches have left this one of the worst streets on the north side of Ann Arbor. Please put in on the list for resurfacing! The nearby stretch of Huron Parkway is also very bad.

The owners/managers of the Plymouth Mall do a terrible job of maintaining the sidewalks along Nixon and Huron Parkway. This picture was taken more than 24 hours after the recent snowfall. A small vehicle went through to clear the snow, but instead it compacted it and it is now frozen. This happens every winter on the sidewalks around this mall.
