    Subject: Bulk Waste Mattresses

I live at 420 NE 5th St 32601. There is an apartment building across the street from me that is usually occupied by mostly college students. It is at the corner of NE 5th St and NE 4th Ave. On several occasions, usually every fall, there have been mattresses left at the curb for weeks at a time. There are currently 3 that are sitting there on NE 5th St across from my property and have been there for over 2 weeks. I called your office yesterday and left a message and phone number but received no response about this issue. The web site states that you will remove bulk items either on the regularly scheduled trash day or the day after; they are still there after 2 weeks. I would greatly appreciate the removal of these rain soaked, musty and eyesore items.

    Thank You
    John Brennan

Hi. This traffic signal doesn't seem to function correctly. There will be no traffic waiting on NW 19 St, yet it will stop traffic on NW 53 Av and cycle through a turn signal. It doesn't seem to be needed because all the stores around Home Depot at closed during these hours. This happens mostly at night and in the early morning and it causes traffic on NW 53 Av to miss the light at 441. Is it possible to put this signal in flash mode during late night/early morning like the signal at Main and 53rd? Thank you.

The pavement in the RTS bus pullout in front of Ridgmar Commons Apts entrance on SW 35th Pl eastbound is scalloped especially towards the curb edge. It seems that the weight of the bus and the underlying soft soil is destroying the roadway surface. In time, it will be difficult for the bus to safely pick up and drop off with a rucked up pavement surface. Please repair this bus pullout and consider replacing with a more durable matrix in the future when funds become available. In addition, when engaging in future repairs, note that this pullout does not meet FDOT standards for a bus pullout in terms of construction or length. As buses attempt to pull away from the stop, they frequently run over the curbs on the merge/acceleration area because it is too short and shallow. This bus stop needs to accommodate two 40' buses at a time. Please refer to FDOT 2013 Accessing Transit for detailed geometric design guidance.

This has been overgrown for at least a year now. I have complained about it at least two times. The owner needs to keep it manicured, even if no one is living on the property because it really makes the value of homes in the area go down. More homes are being built across the street from it and they may not be able to sale them because of this eye sore. Please have the owner take care of this property. Thanks.
