Melrose, MA Neighbor

Docked Bike share systems have proven their greater utility and durability compared to dockless systems such as lime bike. It has now been about 4 years since Lime pulled out of Melrose and it is well past time to invest in the locally proven alternative and publicly owned Bluebikes.

With Malden and Medford now part of Bluebikes, that network is expanding northwards towards Melrose, with the spot pond brook greenway funded in the latest MPO TIP, the regional path network is also expanding towards Melrose, and with the Mystic Highlands greenway as part of the MassDOT priority trails network, this will only continue to expand. Additionally Blue bikes would also be useful within the city itself (Salem proves this can be a viable model without any Bluebikes in the surrounding area).

Please consider Joining Bluebikes and encourage Malden to add a Bluebikes station at Oak Grove. This would enable people to bike to the T and if expanded city wide would also improve access to local businesses and mobility for residents.

Chronic recurring storm drain problem

There's a telecommunications wire down on the ground running across the street. It's been down since that really bad rainstorm about 2 weeks ago. (December 18th?) I know there's no snow in the immediate future but if it doesn't get fixed before the snow plows come out they're going to snag on that wire and do some real damage.

This large pothole is getting worse every week. It is on Lynde Street.
Pieces of asphalt are flung to the sidewalk. Sidewalk.
Car suspension damage is likely to occur.

Large pothole, that collects rainwater and then turns to ice. All of that makes for a large section of an icy sidewalk. The pothole is so deep it splashes all the way to the gate that is set back from the road.

The condition of this road is despicable

deep 18 inch pothole. location is usually a puddle but almost completely dry right now. next day or 2 might be the only window of opportunity ti fill.
