There is a culvert that runs from the north western corner of 111 Chestnut under Chestnut lane and discharges into the area on the other side of the road. The outfall of the culvert pipe is nearly filled to the top with sediment, restricting proper flow.

Either Superstorm Sandy or Hurricane Irene broke a large branch off tree in front of my house which fell on my power line and rip it off my house. I had to have electrician attach conduit back to my house and have the power company turn electricity back on from street. Someone from the town came and marked this tree for removal. It is still there and has grown much larger with branches hanging on my power line from house conduit and street pole. Another good storm will result in this tree pulling down my power line again. We have already had to wait 10 years to get sidewalk fixed from roots of this tree several years back. I am requesting the tree be cut back or removed as the roots don't grow down but out to the side. We are handicapped senior citizens on town leaf pick up. Thank you. Dominic DeMartino

I was in the store yesterday around 5:45, and it seemed very understaffed. No one was monitoring the doors, and there was only one person working at the registers. The checkout line had at least 5 or 6 people in it, and no one was maintaining social distancing. From what I could tell, people were walking up to the register before the cashier had the chance to clean the card reader and checkout counter between each person checking out.

Please reinspect the sidewalk and apron in front of the house. Last inspected in 2016 and has aged since then.

On Master List and is a 2012 street

I was recently in Petco in Hamden and noted that they were allowing abundance of people in the store it was about a half hour before closing time and they had groups of 2 to 5 people walking around the fish department not practicing social distancing

They also had several people looking at hamsters in groups it look like families… Then as I approached the cashier I noticed that he was standing behind a barrier of saran wrap which I don’t believe is appropriate and they should be behind of an acrylic shield!

164 Kirk Road I sent an issue about both a sewer giving way and a hole in the street created by a Hamden snow plow. They came replaced the sewer and said they were coming back in a couple of days to fill around it. When they come they will fix the hole in the street. Yes they came filled around the sewer but there is still a hole in the street. The hole is at the end on my driveway in the street. A street snow plow removed it. I had all the old tar by the mailbox showed the fellow. The tar is gone and the hole still there.

I have reason to believe Hamden health care and rehab is sneaking in people to see their loved ones. Person driving A white Hyundai parked in the first handicapped spot has possibly been inside for at least an hour.

People have been speeding up and down the street with no regard to the kids that often play in the neighborhood. This has become even more of an issue this past year.

Street sweeper and his truck ran into tree in front of my house and snapped off a large branch of the tree. He then dragged the branch in front of my neighbors yard. The tree branch needs to be clean and chipped, and the tree itself needs to be cut clean, instead of broken off. Not a great look for Memorial Day Weekend. My neighbor is an army vet.

Goes with the other post about speeding on this portion of road. Very dangerous and distracted drivers speeding and on cell phones. We NEED speed humps in this location / near Coram/ Waite or flashing speeding signs. Please help! People are whipping down this section of road. Lots of pedestrians walking down this scenic road. Please help prevent a tragedy.

    Dear Mayor Leng,

I am sending you this message I wrote to the Hamden Police Dept. I wanted to include you because I’m hoping someone will take action here.

    Dear Hamden Police Dept,

I’m not sure if this is the correct forum, I’m a registered nurse and a resident of Spring Glen. I walk down Waite street daily by the lake where there is side walk. On that first strip of Waite Street (Near Coram) and where the bend in the road is, people are whipping down that portion of street at top speed. Yesterday a man must have been going 60 mph before he came to a screeching halt and almost went straight into the lake on that turn. I have witnessed while standing on the corner of Coram and Waite St many distracted young drivers on their cell phones looking down and speeding. There are a ton of pedestrians out there walking now especially during these Covid times, the weather is nicer and tons of people in the neighborhood are out walking to the lakes. If something is not done I’m afraid someone will get hit by a car or a car will drive right into the lake. Can there please be a speed bump or two between Whitney/ Coram or Whitney and the lake? Or just a temporary speed limit sign or something? Or just any sign to alert drivers to drive SLOW? Anything? There are new automated speed alert signs near the new apartments over on Waite near Dixwell . Can we have something like that? It is a really dangerous situation over there. People use it as a cut through from state st/ ridge rd/ Whitney to lower Dixwell and they are trying to get from point A to point B as fast and recklessly as possible. But the problem is people in the neighborhood are drawn to that road as a scenic place to walk and use this as a walking route . I know everyone is busy and from what I understand the town doesn’t have finances but this could honestly potentially save a life if we could have a sign for that spot. As a nurse I see things like this and think the worst, and think how something so simple could prevent a tragedy from happening .

Thank you for your time and consideration.
