    Is there something that can be done to remove the homeowners vines that have grown over the fence? Additionally, for years they have allowed leaves to compost on the sidewalk on both Beech and Orchard. Is it possible for a crew to scrape all of that off so pedestrians can have the sidewalk back?     While crossing Beacon Street at the crosswalk before the Whole Foods (in daylight) cars in both directions stopped for me to cross - meanwhile 15 cyclists continued on without stopping or even slowing. The stopped drivers (quite a few of them by this time) and I watched as bikes riding in a pack just ignored me standing on the crosswalk.
    Yes, this is technically Somerville, but the cyclists were speeding through, coming from Inman Square. Pedestrians ARE in greater danger these days.
