    Woodland Ave & Fairview Rd Raleigh, North Carolina, 27608 - Five Points

    Several days ago, stop signs were added to Fairview at the Woodland Ave. and Fairview intersection (Woodland already had stop signs) thus making it a 4-way stop. This was a good addition but my complaint is that the stop signs on Fairview were removed without any notice. I ride my bike through that intersection every morning and afternoon and having a 4-way stop made crossing much safer.

    However, this morning, as I came to a stop on Woodland, I started to ease through the intersection and expected oncoming traffic to stop because as of yesterday, there were stop signs. Those stop signs were apparently removed w/o notice and I was almost hit by a car passing through on Fairview. This would have been my fault if there was an accident because I didn't know the stop signs were removed. The oncoming traffic on Fairview wasn't obligated to stop and I only realized that after a near collision with the oncoming car and me on my bicycle.

    Please don't remove stop signs w/o notice or some very clear warning!

    A "No Parking" sign or two is needed in front of the fire hydrant on Halifax at W. Franklin Street. People are often parking in front of it. Not only is that illegal in itself, but it also blocks the view for drivers coming onto Halfax from Franklin.
