I live on Cedar Road North and ride my bike every day to work when the weather permits. The safest route when I ride my bicycle home is Fulton Street.  I next cross Fellsway West, proceeding north. Then, I take a right on Earl Ave (although there is a sharp incline on Earl Ave, this is a quiet ride with no traffic), then left on Mammola Way, right on Rosina Street.  At the top of Rosina Street at the intersection with Fulton Spring Road, I encounter a mobility issue. To gain access to the Fulton Spring Road because there is a road gate, I have to maneuver a curb cut on the left sidewalk.  Here, I make an abrupt right turn on an incline so that I say on the path and do not ride into the oncoming traffic on Fulton Spring Road. I have already experienced undue hardship when I fell off my bike while manuring this intersection. Upon reflection, I noticed a few other difficulties a person will encounter in this intersection. There is no curb cut on the right-hand side. The only access for anyone using a wheelchair, walker, stroller, or bicycle is by utilizing the curb cut on the left-hand side. Many times, cars and boats are parked too near the curb cut, limiting a person's access.  My research shows that Rosina Street is a private-way, and bicycles should not ride on sidewalks.

The issues I would like addressed is the lack of accessible curb cuts, and the tight sidewalk access when traveling on Rosina to Fulton Spring Road. As a dismounted cyclist, I need at least three-foot clearance.  Please note that this entire intersection for pedestrians is challenging to navigate. Also, it's unclear whether or not a private-way needs to be compliant with the American with Disabilities Act rules. If a private-way is expected to be obedient,  ADA requires a minimum width of 4 ft. to be provided in all cases (PROWAG R301.3.1).

I was riding my bicycle in the newly minted bike lanes, there was broken glass in the path at the intersection. I rode underneath McGrath and by the time I came out by AutoZone I had a very very flat tire. $53 later I have a new tire and a new tube. Please make sure the newly minted bike lanes in Union Square are free of any sort of construction debris so that other cyclist do not get flat tires. Thank you for improving traffic for cyclists.

Fellsway East in Malden at route 60. Cars Blocking the box, cars using on-coming lane to cut through. This intersection needs police detail during rush hour to ticket illegal behavior and causing traffic tie ups.
