    My husband watched our compost bin being put in the garbage truck. Was that an error?
    Is Cambridge no longer composting.
    I don't want to waste my time separating compost so that Cambridge can combine it with garbage.
    Please let me know.

    Just want to thank the city, in the person of Claude Jacob, Chief Public Health Officer ,for notifying citizens of the protocol it uses to respond to rodents. It also included information and a cute flyer about how we citizens can reduce the growing problem. I hope household received one.

    The CASPAR First Step team will work to engage with unsheltered individuals and offer transportation to shelters and other assistance. First Step can be reached at 617-592-6895 from 2 pm - midnight.

    The Police Department will be providing support to shelters going over capacity during the extreme cold. Winter storms and extreme temperatures pose a severe risk to the safety and health of people staying outdoors. If a member of the public sees someone outdoors and are concerned about their wellbeing, they should contact First Step (617-592-6895) or call 911 if it is a medical emergency.

    There has been only a temporary storm sewer cover at this location all through the winter to date. It does not drain very well or very quickly, particularly in the winter in conditions of snow and ice. Please replace with permanent storm sewer.
