The island that is in the intersection of Tidewater Way and Tidewater Way is not only unsightly, but represents a driving hazard. It has been this way for many years. I took this picture at 7:43 in the morning as I was about to turn left from the Midpoint Square onto Tidewater Way Fortunately, I saw a car coming towards the square with lights on so I knew to stop. As you can see the unsightly overgrowth that is on this island makes it impossible to see the car even with its lights on. Of course, when someone comes around the corner on a bicycle, or a child on a skateboard scooter, it is an accident about to happen I am hoping that the entire island in that intersection can be re-landscaped with lower growing plants to make it safer for everyone and correct the eyesore at the same time Thank you very much.

Than you for having your crews prune the azaleas. Now that the gardenia bushes have bloomed, it might be a good idea to do a hard prune to them, say to knee-high. Also, there are palmetto stands that are very scruffy looking with a lot of dead material and palmetto trees that need to be pruned of the dead branches. It would be nice to have our neighborhood park returned to its former beauty, especially in the spring and summer.

Now that the scraggly, spindly azaleas in Wakefield Park have bloomed and the blossoms have fallen off, it would be nice to give them a hard prune and cut out the dead wood. I hand-pruned mine back a couple of years ago to about two feet high and they have came roaring back. The gardenia bushes in the park also need the same treatment after they bloom. They have had very few blossoms on the past several years due to inattention and lack of care. Thank you for recently laying down pine straw in our park. It looks much better.

Azalea bushes, palmettos, and gardenias need to have dead wood cut out of the plants. Perhaps, in the spring after the azalea blossoms have finished blooming, do a hard prune to encourage new growth. The scraggly appearance of these plants gives the square a very unkempt look.
