    The Blackburn Canal runs behind my property and I’ve noticed that vegetation has grown over the canal in several areas. This vegetation makes this waterway impassable for kayaks, canoes, etc. The canal needs dredging/clearing to remove the overgrowth and restore the flow of water.

    The Blackburn canal runs through the Sawgrass subdivision in Venice. It is in need of a complete cleanup of invasive plants and dredging. The canal is very clogged and the water is not flowing well. This canal is used as a tributary to handle overflow from the Myakka river. This could become a major issue if not cleaned up.

    A rabbit was hit by a car in front of 440 Baycrest. A neighbor picked up some of the remains, but there still is plenty to be washed from the pavement.
    A lot of people walk and bike the area and there's concern of contamination.
