Three months ago I reported that an Eversource crew, while investigating a gas leak that was eventually found to exist in the branch line serving 22 Sherman St, drilled 14 pilot holes to find the precise location of the leak. The leak, apparently, was found and repaired. The holes, however, went unfilled, inviting freeze/thaw damage to the just completed resurfacing. About three weeks after that notification, an Eversource crew came and filled the holes. Whatever material they used was not up to the task, however, and it was quickly eroded, recreating the same problem. I know it's now winter, which offers significant difficulties in refilling the holes, but whatever can be done will forestall the need for a more extensive repair later on.

    Not exactly a pothole, but...

When an Eversource crew came to fix a gas leak in the pipe supplying 22 Sherman St in early August, they drilled a number of pilot holes in the newly paved street to locate the leak. These holes were left open. As a result 14 two inch diameter deep holes still are present. While this currently poses only a minor hazard, when winter comes, water will fill those holes, and, given the certainty of freeze/thaw conditions, will accellerate the degradation of the newly paved street.
