There are 3 practically dead ornamental pear trees in front of Harvard Vanguard on Cambridge Street near the intersection of Roberts Road. The request is to replace these with 3 new HEALTHY trees + a continuous tree trench with perennial plantings to give the new trees ample space for root growth and to help capture stormwater runoff.

Yesterday, I walked down Bishop Allen Drive past Vail Court and noticed a huge infestation of the noxious weed, BLACK SWALLOWWORT.
Please remove these highly invasive plants before they flower, go to seed and spread to nearby properties. The leaves are toxic to monarch butterfly caterpillars!

  • Bike Rack Request Acknowledged
    485 Broadway Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Mid-Cambridge
These five, awkwardly designed bicycle racks (Quincy and Broadway) are always empty. The adjacent City standard "lollipop" racks are always full. It would be good to substitute the unpopular style with 5 new lollipop racks to accommodate up to 10 more bicycles at this location.

I tripped and fell at this location and broke the head of my right humerus bone. I am in quite a bit of pain and cannot work - am right-handed.

The 2 dawn redwood trees in this photograph are located directly in front of the Main Library. These trees are iconic and greatly beloved. However, as can be evidenced in this photograph, these trees are looking highly stressed. Loving attention is urgently needed! Please feed these trees (deep-root fertilizaion would be good) and mulch them with a mulch/ compost/ mix. Time to bring these beloved beauties back to life!
  • Ellery St. Cambridge, Massachusetts - Mid-Cambridge
There are two rings of tree mulch that continue to be added to every year - even though the two trees that used to be here died many years ago. Please remove the mulch circles and replace them with grass!!! This area is directly outside the War Memorial pool. Thank you.

The DPW contractor who was clearing snow (or applying salt) to the sidewalk opposite my home (102 Ellery St). buried my bicycle with snow and disgusting mud that was apparently kicked up when the edge of adjoining lawn was scoured by the contractor's equipment.
I would like for my bike to be liberated ASAP. Hopefully. it isn't ruined, as it's my sole means of transportation.
  • 449 - 459 Broadway And Cambridge Streets Cambridge, Massachusetts - Mid-Cambridge
The sidewalks on the block bounded by Felton, Cambridge, Ellery and Broadway have received an insane amount of salt, despite the small amount of ice and snow we've experience this year. This is TERRIBLE for the the many trees - trees that already struggling.
Please use salt dispersal equipment that is a maximum of 4 feet in width. This will help avoid trampling of tree roots and deposits of salt on grass.
  • 106-198 Ellery Street Cambridge, Massachusetts - Mid-Cambridge
Near the entrance to the underground garage in front of the historic library, there is a regular waste receptacle. Please add a recycling receptacle next to it. There are a number of recyclable items that are being placed in this bin, primarily by high school students. They need to be able to put recyclable waste in a proper container.
  • TOO MUCH SALT Archived
Ellery Street Between Broadway And Cambridge Streets Cambridge, Massachusetts - Mid-Cambridge
The sidewalks around the main library, such as those at Ellery and Broadway have received excessive salt. This is really hurting all the linden trees. It's a repeat of the mistake made by the City's contractors in years past.
