Though the CalTrain crossing isn't open, yet, this street has been made dangerous by adding an extra lane for North-West bound traffic. Nearly everyone driving NW on this section speeds up to 'try to pass' the cars in front of them. Sometimes they pass on the left, sometimes on the right. Sometimes they follow the lanes, sometimes they drive through the bike lanes.

Once the CalTrain crossing is opened I will probably no longer use the bikelane on this street, if the erratic behavior of drivers is any indication of future behavior.

And when I'm driving on this street in my car, I also feel the compelling urge to speed and be a jackass, just like everyone else. The street layout is CAUSING this behavior.
