  • Illegal Signs Acknowledged

    On 10/20 observed Illegal sign “buy houses 443-390-9004 FAST CASH” attached to county/state taxpayer funded street sign on east west blvd and Ritchie hwy. This is not only illegally posted, use of taxpayer funded property, defacing public property but also distracted driving which is a safety issue and distracting from critical street signs that are posted for the public safety. Using the stop signs no u turn, right turn lane, etc… can distract from those instructions, i.e. instead of reading these critical safety instructions a person may be reading “we buy houses”, “fast cash”, etc… and make a wrong turn, u turn, etc…. It concerns me as a resident that my taxes will go up as the county has the liability for any accidents that occur near these signs and it doesn’t do its part and remove the signs. I would agree with any attorney suing Anne Arundel county for the liability of distracting driving. Does the county do all it can to remove the signs, does it do all it can to discourage illegal signage, I think both answers are no. In order for it to be yes the county would have to actively remove these signs and there should be a much higher fine, at least enough to cover the cost of removal and fines should escalate for repeat offenders.

    I have tried contacting you twice about a serious issue that is going to cause an accident and/or fatality. The first time I got a response that my complaint may not go through, so I sent a quick 2nd one to make sure it did. I have not heard back from anybody. People keep continuing to break the law, including police officers, and something really bad is going to happen. Please contact me ASAP before it does.

    The pot hole surrounding the man hole cover in the lower left of the photo is severe. I knocked my vehicle out of alignment when I ran over it. It is in the right lane of Jennifer Rd. It is about 30 ft from the 50/301 Washington Bay Bridge road sign.

    there was a lot recently opened up off of Ponder Drive before 3840 Ponder Drive. Normally I would not have an issue with this, however, with the recent rains it has begun to flood my backyard due to the construction eliminating the run off from Twin Oaks to Ponder Drive. Due to the silt fencing being placed it has made a pool in the back of my property. This needs to be addressed immediately since this was not a problem before. This is going to cause a problem with stagnant water since this is not draining correctly. Our neighbors and myself do a lot to keep leaves and the runoff cleaned out so now we are being penalized by poor construction.

    It’s raining today and heavy equipment has been moving around in the mud on steep slope in critical area. Silt fence was somewhat repaired but all of the mud runs down the driveway when it rains. It runs off the site as well so the pavered driveway is covered in mud as well. Nothing has been done to prevent this from happening everytime it rains. Any construction vehicles make the situation worse.
