  • 4-99 Normanskill Dr Albany, NY, 12209, USA - Albany
This section of Normanskill Drive is treacherous. I have been reporting the condition year round - either huge potholes or dangerous thick ice, with potholes. Please put this on a list for permanent repair. Dumping salt is not making any difference. This is a city maintained street, not someone’s gravel driveway. It is impossible to walk safely.

the sidewalk on east and west side of Delaware from the thruway overpass should be cleared for school children trying to walk to Albany School of Humanities - all the way to Normanskill Drive on the west side and to AAA on the east

I had reported this a month or so ago. Dead standing trees along Normanskill Drive - one large tree directly across from #4. Large limbs have been falling and thankfully we have been able to push off the rioad and no one has gotten injured. Other dead standing are scattered along Normanskill Drive. There is a tree down on the secondary wires between #4 and the Farm entrance (that is now blocked to traffic). Right side as you are heading to #3.

There are several standing dead trees directly across from my property on Normanskill Drive. One large limb fell a few days ago and it is still on the side of the road, although someone did move it off so it is not blocking traffic. More importantly, two smaller limbs are still hanging pretty high up - caught by other limbs, but very precarious and dangerous if they were to fall into a windshield or person.

This is an ongoing issue. The sidewalk that crosses over the thruway on Delaware is not maintained - it is currently a sheet of ice, crusty snow. And it only has a few inches. There is a lot of foot traffic and all the sidewalks in the area have been learned except that stretch and the sidewalk on the bridge over the Normanskill into Delmar.

Old windows and aluminum frames, some siding and some insulation were dumped in two spots - before #2 Normanskill Drive - on the right side, and after #3 Normanskill Drive on both the left and right side of the road. Dumped sometime over the weekend.
  • Rapp Road And Washington Avenue Extension. Albany, New York - Dunes
The new lights work, but the timer for this light seems very short for vehicles trying to cross over Washington or turn onto Washington from Rapp, especially from the South side. The other traffic signal further west towards has much more time allotted.

The mechanism to cross over the traffic exiting the Northway onto Western Avenue does not function and probably hasn't for years. That goes for the east and west side cross buttons. If you are walking on the sidewalk and trying to get across the traffic - towards Stuyvesant or towards Crossgates it is impossible - especially since cars heading west onto Western can turn on red and do not look for pedestrians - they only look to the left for traffic. Since there is no viable sidewalk on the south side of Western Avenue once you pass the cemetary, until you get past Schoolhouse Road - this is the only way to get up or down Western Avenue. In addition to fixing those crosswalk buttons - it would be great (and safer for pedestrians and bicyclists) to install a "no right turn on red" sign for those cars exiting the northway and heading west on Rt 20. I have to wave and shout for anyone to even look in my direction. Thanks
