The property to the left of my home has a tree that is approximately three stories high. Over the years we've had the tree trimmed on our side of the property, but the tree services will no longer touch it. Approx 8 or 9 years ago we had consulted with the owner of the neighboring property about removing the tree for safety reasons however they were not interested. In the years following the tree has become split down the middle, the split is through the base of the tree approximately three or four feet off the ground. The tree's branches extend roughly 9 to 12 feet towards the street. Recently the split in the base of the tree has been expanding and it is making loud noises and the sound of breakage appears to get worse with the change in the wind. It is at the point where the next strong storm, wind, or potential snowfall will cause it to split down the middle. Based on the size of the tree it is threatening to fall into the power lines, the sidewalk between the two houses (public sidewalk) and potentially fall halfway into the street. In prior years I have written letters to the electric company, the town, state utility control and other organizations with no response. It is critical that someone takes a look at this tree, assesses the danger to the public and power for this street and takes appropriate action. Not only could it fall on a person, but it threatens to cut off half this section of the neighborhood from electricity and travel (dead end street) if it were to fall due to inclement weather.

Prospect St at the corner of South St, and South St at the corner of Spring St - here's the basics. The dug house is at the corner of south/spring....the purchasers wait at the corner of South and Prospect. Every day, all day, all the time. In fact, it is so frequent you recognize the people day after day! We've started to give them cute names....Dirty Junkie White Guy that lives at Barbara's house, two people with New Hampshire plates that live at Lanora's house, young looking skinny kid that lives in the White House on the corner....teal SUV hear every day, Maroon 2 door loser car hear every day...guy that looks homeless but isn't and you can also see him panhandling in front of Best Buy. I mean seriously....how many more times do I have to report and report and report and report and report this?

There are a couple of people that go through the garbage in my neighborhood looking for recycling frequently. I've confronted them in my driveway to let them know they are not welcome. I understand that if I've moved my garbage and recycling bins to the street that they are public access...however if the garbage bins are in mine or my neighbors backyards, driveways, private property, they should not be entering our property to go through our belongings. I confronted this couple recently and was given an excuse that the lady was in an abusive relationship, needed to get out, etc. This has been ongoing since last summer. I am perfectly ok with people going through the garbage if I've put it out on the street because I no longer have any attachment to it. However I don't think everyone in the neighborhood is aware of their rights to privacy nor do they realize this crew is scavenging their garbage. What should the neighbors know? What are our rights? And can someone canvas the neighborhood and let them know that we are frequented by these scavengers? Thompsonville is a beautiful neighborhood when you have an owner-occupied home and we have an opportunity to keep our property values reasonable. The scavengers are one of the issues we have.

Intersection Of Prospect St & South St Enfield, Connecticut - polytest
I noticed there were repairs going on in the intersection today. In the spring/summer of this year there was work performed in this same spot. Just wondering how long work is expected and if there's any particular schedule of what days work will be performed. The repairs are at the top of a dead end road and if we could get a rough idea in advance of the days work is scheduled it would make it easier to plan morning commutes/deliveries and other vehicle traffic for those of us that are coming and going.

There is a stormdrain near the intersection of prospect street and south street causing water runoff to the adjacent houses. Everytime it rains it floods the two houses on prospect street and creates runoff on the odd-numbered side of south st ext causing the basements of multiple houses to flood. The runoff is also washing away what little healthy yard we have left.
