Leaf blowers and vacuum truck showed up again at 2am Monday morning, 7/24. Hasn't happened in months so I was optimistic this was over, but unfortunately they are back. I called the police, but didn't watch long enough to see if they showed up in time to tell them to stop. Either way, reporting again so that you can reach out to the center's management and tell them, yet again, to stop. Thanks.

Hi there, the Plaza Escuela shopping center insists on using high powered hoses to clean their sidewalks late at night. Aside from creating extremely loud noises that I can hear all the way from my place, it's against city code to use these kinds of devices during off hours, just like leaf blowers. Additionally, this is not legal per California Executive order that is permanently in effect B-40-17 that says "The State Water Resources Control Board will maintain urban water use reporting requirements and prohibitions on wasteful practices such as watering during or after rainfall, hosing off sidewalks and irrigating ornamental turf on public street medians." Please inform them of their multiple violations in this practice and ask them to cease. Thank you!

Yet again I'm having to complain of noise in this shopping center when my neighbors and I should be sleeping. It's 1am and there are people using hose guns to clean clean outside Ross. Per ordinance, hose guns would be grouped into the same category as leaf blowers, "the operation of which causes noise due to the explosion of operating gases or FLUIDS." I've also just put a call into the police as I've been advised in the past to do so.

I'm reporting this issue yet again. Over the last month or so I have tried to resolve this issue in the Ross shopping center on my own. When a leaf blower and vacuum truck would show up, I would go tell the person that there were laws about the hours and they were in violation of them. Each time the person would tell me they didn't know. Two of the three times the companies they said were Acu-Vac Power Sweeping based out of Concord and then Universal Site Services. Both times they told me they would notify their company and they left. Last night, at around 6am someone showed up. I was woken up and yet again went down. The guy stopped but refused to tell me his company's name, whether he was hired by the property or another company, and he proceeded to still use the truck. I went to to call the police and he saw me getting on my phone and it was at that point he left. I'm getting SO sick and tired of being woken up every so often by this. I don't know if the property management is completely unaware this is happening or if they don't care one bit, but this needs to stop. Again, I can't be 100% sure which of the two companies this is (or both?) but I've often stopped them on the Ross side. I'd say contact both again though. PLEASE HELP or tell me what other recourse I might have. Thanks!

Now we've got leaf blowers being used outside Men's Wearhouse (I'm going to assume this is that complex in general) at 730 in the morning on a Sunday. Per city code, they shouldn't be starting until 9am on the weekends.

I have to bring this us even though it's been brought up before. I walk by the old Fresh Choice every day and it's becoming increasingly disgusting. In the old outdoor eating area, in the parking area, and behind the building, there are clearly homeless people living there. There is junk all over, there is food and food containers, and I've seen people sleeping there even at night. I know homelessness is a difficult issue to tackle, but the more junk and food that sits around, the more of a health concern this becomes. It invites rodents, pests, and other creatures to the area. Moreover, I see women, elderly and other people walking around, even at night, and it's dangerous to have vagrants literally living on a corner where people who are at risk could be mugged or assaulted. Walnut Creek is a great city and I love it, but these kinds of issues really need to be dealt with, not only because of how it makes our city look, but more importantly from a public safety standpoint.

Hi there I reported this around a month ago and now it's back. The leaf blowers and vacuum truck that create loud noise are back. This was in the shopping center area that contains Ross but they were on the non-Ross side. It was 12:50am and the noise was awful. I called the police and reported it but unfortunately they didn't come within the next 15 minutes while that noise continued. I know this had been fixed for a bit of time, but the problem is back.

Hi there, I live in the new Agora apartments and face the Ross shopping center. Every night, between midnight and 2am they have a large vacuum truck (or whatever it is called) to pick up debris and one to two men using leaf blowers. It wakes me up constantly. From what I've researched regarding WC city code, it's not permitted (commercial or residential) to use either of these types of equipment after 7pm until the morning (Title 4, Chapter 6.203g. Please help!
