    Someone pried off the blue women's room sign on the Maxwell Park restroom. It was lying on the ground. A small piece of the blue surface is chipped off on one edge.     Bedding left by homeless person on play structure. Man was sleeping on picnic tables, but switched to play structure (seen by someone) last night. We will move the bedding to next to the underground garbage can. Maybe there can be city outreach to him. Present port-a-potties probably make park more attractive at night.

    About 30 dead palm fronds threaten the welfare of the children who play in the sand area below. One falling one just missed a mother and toddler recently. They fall constantly, and we have to collect them for pickup. The recent injury of a mother in an SF park reminded me to renew my efforts to get a full trimming, something I've been trying to get for about five years. Please help! Before our huge event on Sept. 10th would be ideal.

    Blackberries and unwanted bushes are taking over the area where Friends of Maxwell Park has planted lots of trees. We know crews are limited, but we requested the work over six months ago. We do appreciate the recent mowing and weed-whacking, however.

    Women's restroom was locked at 5:45 PM. Maybe it was left locked because of the Port-a-potties that are here, but I would much prefer it be open. Much better for children, plus hand washing. And both drinking fountains are totally clogged with sand. We definitely need full hand washing sites for our 400-500 people expected on Sept. 10th.
