Traffic always exceeds posted limit on Harrison St and is a pedestrian and child safety concern, especially because there is a school and family housing. Ironically, there are public marketing banners posted on streetlight with photos of people that say "slow down, we live here" but the 5 lanes of one way traffic with multiple freeway ramps realistically make this street a continuation of I-80 and there is no regard by autos for nearby pedestrians or residents. Recommendations: 1)create bike lane like Folsom 2) create wider sidewalks and lose 1 lane of traffic 3) beautify the 5th St off ramp to similarly what it was like when it was a park setting and the original bay bridge on and off ramp when Harrison was a 2-way st 4) post traffic cops and additional signage 5) push and open codes to allow for further development of abandoned properties so that there is a more vibrant street life with people who intend to live or work at this location and therefore reinvest back into the community, rather than just passing by
