  • 33 Western Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The Heights

    Hello,

Request for new street pavement for a small street called Reserve Avenue or Street. It is located in between an auto body shop and the home 33 Western Avenue). This is a small street that needs new street pavement because the street has problems.

Second, request for new pavement for Western Avenue starting at the corner from Manhattan Avenue to Lincoln Street. This street has uneven pavement and the request is to have new pavement in order to improve the block and driving. This is a busy road that gets traffic from Tonnelle Avenue and Manhattan Avenue.

These are the two requests that I have to have new road pavement in order to improve the driving condition and neighborhood.

    Hello,

I am requesting for the multiple signs in regarding Neighborhood Safety for Public School Number 11 at 866 Bergen Avenue in Jersey City. The Jersey City School Board Members request for multiple signs to be placed on the streets on Bergen Avenue, Academy Street, and other areas blocks surrounding the Public School Number 11 school.

The school board members request for "Caution Deaf Person" or "Slow Down Drivers- Deaf Child" Signs to be placed around the Public School Number 11 at 866 Bergen Avenue because teachers and parents say that drivers are not aware that deaf children cross the streets to school. School Board Members ask for City the Inspector to place these signs, but to do anything else to enhance school safety surrounding PS #11. Thank you for your cooperation. Please install these safety signs and other measures soon.

  • 282 Saint Pauls Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - Journal Square

In front of building 282 St Paul's Avenue, the Jersey City Construction crew removed completely two trees or one tree in the Jersey City owned sidewalk and people ask that the trees be planted again. Please consider planting the cherry blossom trees again after construction is finished at the same locations where it was removed if possible.

Residents also ask the Jersey City Forestry department to also place 2 or 1 big round gray concrete planting pots to be placed on the Jersey City sidewalk near the the front entrance door of 282 St Paul's Avenue and also at the second location on the Jersey City sidewalk of Liberty Avenue and the side of the building at 282 St. Paul's Avenue near their driveway. The residents of St. Paul's Avenue and Liberty Avenue want trees replanted and big round planting pots in order to plant flowers into those pots at those locations in order to beautify the area. Here is one of the complaints by a resident of Jersey City below:
"Hello neighbors, please do not let the city replace our precious trees with planters. Trees help reduce flooding which is very expensive to property owners, planters do not. Trees clean the air and the cool hot temperatures of urban heat islands, planters do not. Trees increase property values and provide birds and other animals with habitat for decades to come. Planters will never provide these meaningful benefits. It’s not acceptable that the city rip down, potentially mistakenly, a healthy neighborhood tree and not replace it. We deserve better when our neighborhood tree canopy is a dismal 9%"

    Thank you for your cooperation.

  • 362 Terrace Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The Heights

I wish you a Happy and Blessed New Year!   Residents and I would like to know if Terrace Avenue (between Leonard Street and North Street) in Jersey City Heights is going to have new sewage gutters or pipelines installed like the neighboring street Leonard Street?  Currently, there is ongoing construction at Leonard Street where the construction crew are installing new gutters and pipelines.

Second, residents ask for the removal of large amounts of trash from metal parts, furniture, broken branches and trees and other trash on the big vacant government owned lot between Leonard Street and Secaucus Road (5th Street).

Third, residents ask engineers to also inspect this site to not only get all the trash and other debris removed on this big vacant lot, but this empty lot is a hazard due to erosion of the land. Residents and I ask for the inspector to level this land with new soil and wall placed in order to prevent landslides that can even spill onto North Route 1 & 9. This is a dangerous lot and it needs to be cleaned, leveled with new soil, and a wall needs to be installed behind the homes of Liberty Avenue (Leonard Street and Secaucus Road/5th Street).  Please send inspectors to this location to inspect this site and to have debris removed during good weather.  Thanks for your cooperation.

  • 282 Saint Pauls Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - Journal Square

I am writing because residents have asked me to contact you regarding several projects of construction in Jersey City. The first request is at the corner 282 Saint Paul's Avenue and Liberty Avenue there is an uneven Jersey City sidewalk that has a big green United States Postal mailbox. Residents on St. Paul's Avenue and Liberty Avenue have requested that Jersey City Construction Division install a new sidewalk for this uneven sidewalk that has the USPS Mailbox next to an old and big Jersey City government planted tree. The concrete is uneven and it can lead to fall or injuries if someone uses the postal mailbox and parks their car and walks on the sidewalk near the tree and sewage gutter or a dog walker. Many residents kindly ask for the City Construction to only install a new sidewalk for this section of uneven pavement near the mailbox and tree.
Second, in front of building 282 St Paul's Avenue the Jersey City Construction crew removed two trees or one tree at the sidewalk and would like cherry blossom trees to be planted again after construction is finished at the same locations where it was removed if possible. If not, residents ask for big round gray concrete planting pots to be placed at those locations in order to beautify the area. The residents of St. Paul's Avenue and Liberty Avenue want trees and big round planting pots at those locations.

Finally, residents ask that JC Construction Code Inspector put white lines parking markings on the side of the roads of St. Paul's Avenue and Liberty Avenue so that residents and visitors can park at the spots on the streets rather than parking even where drivers sometimes have hard time removing their cars from the side of the streets due to uneven space. These are the 3 requests that residents have asked and hopefully the JC Construction Crew can fulfill them. Thank you for reading this message and for your cooperation. Have A Blessed New Year!

  • 325 Terrace Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The Heights

    Hello,

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving Holiday! Next to the home of 325 Terrace Avenue there is a Jersey City owned sidewalk all the way to the corner of Terrace Avenue and Leonard Street (across from home 362 Terrace Avenue). There is a lot of trash and leaves that is needed of cleaning. Do Not Cite the home owner of 325 Terrace Avenue because the sidewalk is Jersey City owned. Whenever the weather is good to have the crew to clean up the sidewalk. Finally there needs to be a clean up of the stairs Jersey City sidewalk on Leonard Street next to home 362 Terrace Avenue. Thanks for your cooperation and God Bless!

  • 342 Terrace Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The Heights

Across from the street from the homes of 342 Terrace Avenue to all the way to 352 Terrace Avenue parallel to the white and gray fence there needs to be NO Parking to Here to Corner.

Few days ago, about 3 or 4 cars and a van got damaged due to illegal parking across the street from the homes of 342 Terrace Avenue to 352 Terrace Avenue. A Truck or Tow Truck damaged the cars that were parking illegally because the truck got stuck on the road. There was not much room on the road for the truck to drive safely. Due to illegal parking near the truck damaged the cars that were parked on the side of the road.

I request that "NO Parking to Here to the Corner" Signs to be placed across the street from homes 342 Terrace Avenue (near the fire hydrant) to all the way across to home 352 Terrace Avenue. Trucks have a hard time moving on this section of Terrace Avenue because it becomes narrow when people park across the street and red color paining of the curb. This must be done because even fire trucks have a hard time moving on the section of the road.

Please have this done soon. Thank you for your cooperation.

There are tall vegetation, big branches, birds nests, vines, and litter at the utility poles on County Road across the street from Goya Food Factory at 350 County Road to all the way to United Postal Service Headquarters at 80 County Road in Jersey City. The brown utility poles are surrounded by tall vegetation, tall weeds, and garbage that needs to be removed. There are also solar panels on the utility poles that are covered with vines and big birds nests and long tree branches that are a fire hazard as well. While the electric wires from the utility pole to the ground connection are covered with vines and tall vegetation which is also a fire hazard. Finally, there are signage of roads that are blocked by tree branches and leaves and tall vegetation from the speed limit sign, pedestrian walkway sign, and others. Drivers can't see the signs clearly due to these obstacles front and around the signs. This also needs to removed. • 362 Terrace Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The Heights

Request for Jersey City Engineer to view and provide feedback to the owner of vacant lot (Government Lot) near the corner of 362 Terrace Avenue and Leonard Street to all the way to Secaucus Road (5th Street). The city engineer needs to investigate and provide feedback and oversee that this property is hazard or danger problem due to large number of illegal dumping of trash that needs to be removed and erosion of land which can cause landslides on Jersey City Roads and sidewalk and on Ramp next to Route 1 & 9 (Secaucus Road). The land needs to be leveled to prevent landslides to prevent back side of houses on Liberty Avenue collapsing onto Terrace Avenue. A Wall may need to be placed but it is very important for the Jersey City Engineer to come at this location and give engineering advice to make sure that this property is properly cleaned, leveled, and to evaluate the land to make sure this land does not cause landslides and houses on Liberty Avenue or trees to collapse on roads. This properly is a danger or hazard and an engineer is needed to inspect and provide recommendations or solutions to make this property clean and safe. Thank you!

I would like to know does Jersey City Government or State of New Jersey own the property across from 220 Hopkins Avenue? Is this property government owned or private property? It is a vacant lot that has a fencing around it that is parallel to East 139 or Observer Highway. It is not close to Kennedy Blvd. Thank you for your cooperation.
