    Palm trees in Centennial Park were severely pruned, and this can be detrimental to their long-term health. According to the University of Florida's Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences, "Consumers must be educated that palms are supposed to have round crowns, not feather-duster crowns." The persons pruning had City of Venice vehicles. UF/IFAS cautions that "Over pruning palms leads to nutrient deficiencies and increases the likelihood of insect and disease problems."

    Shrubs on south (Tampa Ave) side of Venice Theatre are too large, and causing a traffic hazard for cars turning left (east) onto Tampa from Nokomis. There is little or no visibility of oncoming Tampa Ave traffic, which has no stop sign.
