    Photo taken from northbound 500 e, approaching the I-15 nb on ramp. Traffic was backed up off the on ramp onto the overpass. Traffic was also needing to exit the southbound freeway exit ramp to head north on 500 e.

    The diverging diamond design only has a stop light facing traffic exiting the freeway. The light for traffic crossing the freeway is at the intersection to the south. The expectation (I think) is the lights are timed such that traffic will clear before the exit ramp gets a green light. But due to congestion, you can end up in the situation pictured here. Traffic that had a green light moves forward until blocked by traffic. The lanes are striped and there are no stop lines or indication of a new intersection. Traffic from the exit ramp, however, has a traffic signal. It will give them a green light (allowing drivers to assume a right of way over traffic already in the lanes), where the other drivers already on the overpass have no indication to yield.

    With everyone stopped. this wasn't immediately dangerous. But it was only one lane blocked-the other was clear. A car queued further back could have easily changed lanes and proceeded down the unblocked lane without and signal to warn them, with traffic exiting the freeway (to a green light) suddenly making a turn into their lane. Not great.

    There should be a secondary, backup signal for traffic crossing the freeway if there's going to be e enough congestion so that the lanes don't clear.

    Basically, two intersections rely on signal timing and lack of traffic to act as one. But they're actually two separate intersections and the assumptions about traffic and timing don't hold up and now you have two directions both validly assuming they have the right of way into the same space.     On the shoulder right after the 500 E AF SB exit there is a bump of what appears to be dropped concrete. It's been there a few weeks, at least. Looks like a concrete truck pulled over to the shoulder and dropped some out. It isn't a large hazard now (relatively flat/smooth-would be like a speed bump), but it seems like it'd be easily scraped off by a snow plow in the coming months and become a major road hazard.-

    sign on traffic signal facing eastbound traffic on pony Express Pkwy at intersection with Redwood Rd shows two lanes. left most as left turn only. the other as left or right turn. there are actually three lanes. sign does not match paint on road nor number of lanes/lane configuration. redwood is down to one lane, so two lanes turning.roght wouldn't work (sign may imply to some that the middle lane can turn right on addition to the right lane).

    This on ramp would be much more efficient if it had two lanes for those headed East on Pioneer Crossing. The line for the one lane is packed back through the intersection with Mill Pond Road. Some will use the middle lane, increasing throughput at that signal, but are then merging into the right lane into very small gaps, often while braking.

    The road is under construction and east and west traffic is reduced to one lane each way. The signal timing should be increased to reduce long wait for several cycles. Geneva seems to have less traffic anyhow and should not get green lights without traffic
