96 Tonnele Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - Journal Square
Question: The builder is getting ready to start construction on the 13 story, 198 unit, 4 store, 10 parking spot apartment building at 96 - 110 Tonnele Avenue. Their side property line runs along 5 yards on Bryan Place. (do a google map to see) Many of those yards have mature decades old trees near the property line. A crew from the builder came in and without notice cut all the branches that were over the property line. No notice was given to the property owners on Bryan Place. Is that OK or do the builders have to at least give notice so the owners could maybe get tree experts in to examine the decades old trees to see if cutting the branches would do the trees harm. They cut them off and didn't put anything on the wound. Oh yeah and now all the trees are lopsided which will most likely cause issues in the future. Sad. Thanks you.

It seems they are preparing to demolish the property at 96 - 100 Tonnelle Avenue. They put up a rent a fence along the property and have a massive crane in the parking lot (second picture). In the first picture is the rent a fence that has the orange base over the property line of 160 Van Reipen Avenue. It is a tripping hazard for the tenants of 160 whose use the ally to put their trash in the trash and recycle cans. Also for the elderly residents of Van Reipen some of whom use canes and walkers who walk in the sidewalk in front of 160 Van Reipen. A side question: do the surrounding property owners need to be noticed of the demolition? If so they have not been notified. Thank you.

The old La Mex icana property has been turned into a truck depot. There is another SeeClickFix for that illegal business activity. But like the NLW property this property has turned into a dumping ground. In one picture you can see against the wall the piles of trash, construction debris, truck pallets. In the second picture there is a bigger pile behind the white van that seems abandoned. Hopefully JC can do the excellent job they did in stopping the mess at the NLW property. I know as with that property you need to get a court order to get onto the property to fine and investigate the trash piles. Hopefully like the NLW lot the fines will force the owners to fence off the entrances. It is a dangerous situation with trucks pulling in and out of the lot. Thank you.

The restaurant closed about a year ago. It seems the property is now being used for a truck depot. There are trucks coming and going 24/7 some idling all night. Trailers are dropped off and the next day a different truck cab will hook up and drive it away. It seems to be some kind of transfer station. There are also abandoned vans and cars on the property. There is work being done on the truck cabs and trailers. They are being cleaned out and the trash is being left in the rear and side of the building. Big piles of trash and pallets. The long trucks put in and out of the lot with no regard for other vehicles. In the pictures below you will see what I mean that trailer pulling out almost hit two cars. Please fine the owner of the property or force them to block the entrances. Thank you.

Hi drove by the Storage place this morning. There is water coming up out of the street right at the drive way. If the temps go below freezing it will be a mess. Don't know if it was reported. Thanks

Hi the green street sign is down on the corner of Van Reipen Avenue and Bryan Place. It looks like the 2 bolts came loose. I found one of them and put it in sign. I also roped it up to the pole so no one takes it. Thank you.

The weeds on the sidewalk of 154 Van Reipen Avenue are dangerous. They are so big/wide they are blocking parts of the sidewalk especially on the corner. There are elderly residents and school children who use the sidewalk and are in danger of tripping. The owner doesn't live there it has many different "tenants" coming and going week after week. Unfortunately neither care about the condition of the house. Neighbors try and keep their properties nice and have to deal with that eyesore of a property. (see attached photo from a few weeks ago it is worse now)Thank you please help.
