98–162 Martin Rd Sw Huntsville 35824, United States - Huntsville
Who/where do we contact to Talk a out getting the Martin road / parkway interchange corrected to match the flow and purpose of that road? This interchange was built with similar capacity as all the other parkway interchanges, which didn’t take into account the reality of what happens there. Martin road has a singular purpose-access on and off the arsenal. When people are leaving, anytime from about 3:45 on, there is a constant flow of vehicles in two lanes. hundreds of vehicles nonstop. The turn lanes going north on the parkway don’t come close to holding the vehicles it needs to. I counted one day and I think about 20 can stack in those turn lanes. But the vehicles needing to turn continue to pile up in the left THROUGH lane for many hundreds of yards, leaving only one usable through lane to whitesburg. With the traffic light there it makes this worse than before this interchange was ever built. Currently there are less vehicles using Martin because of the Cecil ashburn closure. When it is open the situation will be even worse. The picture attached is at 4:10 today and I was well west of benaroya lane when I got stopped. It took three turns of the traffic light for me to get through. This is a horrible design that doesn’t consider the actual traffic use on that road. It needs to be designed to handle massive flow in the morning and the afternoon and it will be more than adequate for any other time if the day.

The entire turn lane from Bailey Cove onto 4 mile post is falling apart and it’s a mess of bad patches. It needs to be ground down and replaced fully, it is so bad my vehicle bounces from side to side just trying to turn through there. It’s probably the through Lane as well but I am generally turning so I don’t go through there most of the time

Across the two west bound lanes is a sinking utility cut or bad piece of asphalt. It is maybe 100 yards west of Overton. The backend of my truck literally bounces around when going over it. Just another unsafe spot on the roads.

There is a utility cut going across both northern lanes at an angle that is sunk in pretty severely. It needs to be patched and smooth to make vehicles stop bouncing around as they go over it.

Can someone please check the timing of the light at whitesburg and California? Every morning coming off of California a big line builds up waiting on that light to change. And there is never more than a trickle of vehicles heading north on whitesburg, and hardly any going in the other direction. More cars pile up in California than go through the intersection on whitesburg. The main flow through there in the morning, because of the Cecil closure is off of California, by far. To keep traffic moving the light should favor California. It doesn’t appear to be doing that. It seems to be on a set timing, with no smarts, so lots of people just sit and wait when almost no one is on whitesburg. Thanks

There is a repair from a utility cut all the way across road. It seems those doing repairs don’t understand the consent of compaction. This repair is sinking in deeply in many places causing an unsafe and very rough crossing. This needs to be redone to fix the sinking. Please don’t just throw some asphalt in the hole that will just come out.

Can the city or state please adjust the light at California and 431 so that In the morning it flashes yellow and allows left turns onto California from 431?? Almost every morning I’m sitting in a long line of vehicles waiting to turn left with zero cars coming against us. It is inefficient for traffic, wasteful of gas, and just makes those turn lanes fill up. I’ve attached a Picture to show what it looks like. How far back I am from the light and the fact that NO vehicles are coming in the other direction toward Big Cove. I suggest the flashing yellow because the very next intersection past this that is exactly what it does. Logically there are no more cars going through that one than would be going through this one - it’s the same vehicles. If it is safe for that one it is safe for this one. If not the flashing yellow, them some kind of smarts that turns the light for us when no vehicles are detected on the other side. Obviously we need to keep the 431 traffic moving as much as possible. Right now this light isn’t helping.

Can we please plan utility work more smartly?? Having a lane closed in this road during work time, especially lunch time, causes almost gridlock conditions in an area that is already full of traffic. Night time work in a non residential area like this would be much better.
  • 308 Sutton Rd Huntsville 35763, United States - Huntsville
This light is still set as if Sutton road is open on the way to Cecil ashburn. Since it isn’t, people sit for long times on Taylor rd or coming from Lowe’s center waiting to go left or straight with no traffic at all on Sutton. First, shouldn’t this light have smarts?Second, please adjust it to not hold long on Sutton since almost no one is going there until the road reopens. Thanks

The south bound turn Lanes onto California need to be lengthened. There is plenty of unused asphalt to change the lines to make this happen. As it is with the extra traffic, those lanes quickly fill up in the morning causing traffic to back up in the west bound lane. This is a dangerous situation.
  • 2001–2099 California St Se Huntsville 35801, United States - Huntsville
Can you please adjust this light for morning traffic? Heading west to turn on California and we’ll set every morning with no vehicles heading east. East and west lanes are green, with a constant flow west and nothing going east. But the turn lanes south onto California fill up and sit for no reason. Almost no one is heading east so it seems the signal could be set to recognize that and turn green for the turn lane to keep the traffic moving. It’s very inefficient to have dozens of cars sitting when no traffic is coming, and dangerous as those turn lanes quickly fill backing into the west bound through lane.
