ALL the lights along alewife brook parkway are out. It's very dangerous for cars, pedestrians, and families. My son and I wanted to NOT use our car and walk to CVS after dark. Cars driving very fast, there's no guard rail along the sidewalk. Not to mention that we encountered a man who tried to stare down my son - it was very uncomfortable.

I know this has been reported multiple times. In fact, I reported it last year, and since then MORE of the lights are out. I know -it's part of MSP/DCR. I have called them as well. Nothing has been done. Are we waiting for someone to be injured for someone to do anything about this? Doesn't matter to me if it's DCR or MSP or whoever... They mow the grass, cut back the trees, they can turn the lights back on.

Many of the residents on Matignon Rd have submitted complaints about the speed of the cut through traffic on the street over the past 2 years. We were told that there would be traffic enforcement, but that has yet to happen.

The last complaint (issue #4990477, opened Oct of 2018) was continuously added to by residents, as late as Oct 2018. The complaint was acknowledged by city officials, but nothing has happened. The final message on the post was from Community Development and said:

"Good morning. As soon as Matignon Rd. is scheduled for roadway work we will start a community process to ask for input from the residents regarding concerns on the street. We will also collect speed and volume data ( 48 hrs. Automatic Traffic Recorded ATR) and present the information to the residents of the neighborhood at the meeting(s). We usually do not collect traffic data during the summer specially in areas near schools."

Yesterday afternoon (24Jun19) signs were posted on the Matignon Rd that there is no parking on the street this week because of paving. I do not believe any of the residents were included in a "process" of the street or requested to give any input, nor were we informed about any of this new paving and if there are going to be any changes.

    1. Will the traffic pattern be changed?
    2. Will there be elevated speed bumps (such as those on Rindge Ave)?
    3. Will parking and speeding requirements be enforced?

I have contacted the city of Cambridge and the State police - I keep getting the “it’s not us, it’s them.” The street lights from the intersection at Rt 2 and Rt 16 heading towards Somerville (on the right hand side) are ALL out. It was only a few about a year ago, now they all are. Once you cross over Mass Ave and Rt 16, there are about 5 that are out on the left hand side - where the bike/walking path is. It would be great if the lights could be on - especially as nicer weather comes and more people will be walking at night along these roads.

The plows piled the snow up (about 3 feet high, and 5 feet deep) in front of the was crosswalk/walk button on the corner at Matignon and Rt 16. It is completely inaccessible and the walk button is only on that 1 side.
