The OWM pay kiosk states it is out of order. There are no pay envelops available. City Hall closes at 4 p.m. today, Friday, 09/24, and will be unable to run payments as backup. Attempted to contact the Harbormaster and the PD, unable to reach anyone. Will also try Public Works, Operations & Maintenance on-call.

Coming onto Pritchard Park from the Japanese-American Exclusion Memorial, about half-way onto the beach there is a very strong, clear smell of diesel. There is no visible sheen on the water indicating a spill into the water, but diesel has been spilled there recently.

  • Springridge Road Northeast Bainbridge Island, WA - Bainbridge Island
The following issues need to be addressed immediately:
    1. The street sign is misplaced. It designates another street across Fletcher Bay Road, not Springridge.
    2. City is putting in a drain culvert on the corner of Springridge: (a) there needs to be a light there because the older citizens cannot see the turn; (b) the construction is not well marked so they see the culvert construction - again, the older residents cannot see the construction.
    3. The City must salt to the end of the road. The City stops at Hansen Road so there is about a mile and a half not salted. Again, older residents live on this road and need the road made safe.

Citizen called City Hall to report workers on private property clearing all vegetation near a Type 5 stream feeding the salmon stream. Citizen believes clearing must be kept back from the stream by a certain footage. Reported at 1:15 p.m. on 05/02/17, the clearing was nearly completed. Requests Code Compliance to investigate.

Kono Road (Off Tani Creek Rd) Bainbridge Island, Washington - Bainbridge Island
THE GREEN STREET SIGN NOTIFYING THE PUBLIC OF THE LOCATION OF KONO ROAD IS MISSING. IT WAS KNOCKED DOWN AND LAYING IN THE GRASS TWO WEEKS AGO. THE SIGN IS NOW GONE. THE RESIDENTS ALONG KONO ARE HOPING THE SIGN IS BEING REPAIRED AND/OR REPLACED, BUT THOUGHT IT BEST TO NOTIFY THE CITY IN CASE THE ISSUE HAD NOT BEEN REPORTED.

Just past the San Carlos Restaurant but before the law offices, there is a stream of what appears to be an oil-like substance running out onto the street. The discharged has turned the sidewalk brown.

The citizen wishes to remain anonymous but out of curiosity would like to know what the discharge is, and if it has been stopped/cleaned up. You may email Mr. Evangeloer at rogerevangeloer@gmail.com.

  • Water Front Park Bainbridge Island, Washington - Bainbridge Island
Anonymous resident wishes to make a plea for additional trash cans and dog poop bag dispensers along the popular Waterfront Park path. The one trash can is often overflowing with garbage all over the ground. The one bag dispenser is not convenient to every dog owner when nature calls depending where they are on the path. (P.S. Also reports the bathroom is disgusting.)

  • Bergman And Miller Bainbridge Island Washington - Bainbridge Island
Resident lives on Miller Road and is very aware that people are not obeying the speed limit. Not a Pollyana, he understands, but it is becoming dangerous for residents to pull out of their driveways. This is a good alternate route for vehicles including big trucks. However, this is a residential area and would like to begin a discussion about possible solutions -- e.g. extra signage, speed limit, flashing warning -- to alert drivers to slow down because blind driveways exist and residents may be backing out.
