Loud music is played daily (for many hours) outside the property located at the corner of Canal and Foote streets. The sound exceeds the 55 decibels set by the city’s noise ordinances and is audible for several blocks.

At first I thought it was residents just blowing off some steam during the pandemic, but it’s recurring and daily. It is especially disruptive during a time when many are working from home. Music is great, just not shared with several blocks of neighbors!

I will report to the non-emergency NHPD number, as well, but as it is a daily issue, I think it belongs here as well.

A large semi truck occasionally parks overnight on Canal Street. Commercial vehicles are prohibited from parking in residential areas except for loading/unloading. Can we ask driver to relocate to a non-residential location?

The free standing pedestrian crossing signs need to be replaced at College and Wall. An increasing number of vehicles are driving straight through the intersection and not yielding to pedestrians. This might be because the white lines are wearing off on the south crosswalk, too.

This pile has been out on the curb for a couple weeks.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REPAVE TILTON STREET. It is dangerous to bicyclists, scrapes up the bottom of vehicles, and is in too bad of shape to be "patched up." We've been reporting this for the past several years.

Interestingly, I looked back through SeeClickFix issues and found road repave requests dating back to 2013.

There are a several abandoned bicycles at the bike rack in from of the School of Management that have been there for many months. They are missing wheels, unsightly, and taking up spaces that could be used by other bicycles.

This sidewalk area is unkempt and difficult to pass. Leaves and debris cover most of the sidewalk (leftover from the fall) and the bushes extend out into the sidewalk making it difficult to pass. The section is on the side of a corner lot and is not well cared for by the owner.

Please, please, PLEASE include Tilton St. in the spring repaving cycle. The road is in tatters and pothole patching is no longer a viable solution. The street scrapes up the bottom of vehicles and makes biking dangerous. It's a short residential street, and desperately needs repaving so that personal vehicles, Yale shuttle, school buses, and bicyclists can use it safely.

Tilton is a vibrant street: we have families, children, young professionals, graduate students, and empty-nesters. We are so proud to live on Tilton, and we want our road to be safe and neighborhood-friendly!

Please, please, please re-pave Tilton St. in the next re-paving cycle. I hear the undersides of cars and vans scraping down this street all the time, and I have had to work out a specific weaving pattern to bike up and down the street so I'm not thrown off my bike.

Woodland was repaved this season (THANK YOU), and we would be so, so grateful if Tilton could be repaved next year.

  • 2 Winchester Avenue New Haven Connecticut - Dixwell

As the new residential colleges near completion, I have observed increased pedestrian and bike traffic crossing Winchester Ave at Sachem St.

As a pedestrian, it's a very stressful and dangerous intersection to cross. Even though there are Ped X-ing signs, vehicles are approaching from perpendicular directions, and while vehicles from one direction may stop for pedestrians, vehicles from the other may not be able to see them. I miss the stop sign that used to be at the intersection, and I strongly urge New Haven to consider either replacing the stop sign, or installing pedestrian lights so that drivers can adequately see pedestrians.

    Thank you!

There are so may potholes on Tilton St. that I can no longer bike down it because there is not a clear path to avoid potholes. The potholes have led to damage to the underside of cars and vans (you can hear the scraping as they go over them). The street will need to repaved soon; until then, it desperately needs patching for car and bike safety.
