The stop sign at the corner of Somerville and Riviera Drive was blown down during the hurricane and is now completely missing. This is dangerous as it is a T intersection and traffic on Somerville is supposed to stop. Please get a new stop sign installed asap. Thanks.

Traveling west on Wilkinson, trying to turn south onto Beneva Rd, the left turn signal was either burned out or malfunctioning this morning. The turn lane was backed up for over 5 minutes and after the 3rd cycle of us not getting a turn arrow, cars started proceeding cautiously through on the red light just to be able to get through the intersection. The left turn arrow never illuminated.

This just happened AGAIN this morning after being told three times that this signal has been fixed. Apparently someone's interpretation of fixed is not the same as mine. Please, someone tell me how this signal is helping? I was following a vehicle down Webber heading towards Cattlemen at approximately 5:25 this morning. The car ahead was turning right and tripped the light sensor stopping traffic on Cattlemen (only one car). Then the light did this illumination (see picture) giving only the solid green light, forcing me to slam on my brakes because I was trying to make a left turn and had been told the light was fixed and would always illuminate BOTH the solid green lights as well as the left turn arrows since there is NO ROAD ON THE OTHER SIDE!!!! There is no one coming from the other direction so people trying to make a left turn should have no issue turning left! Why is this so difficult to understand??? But no, the left turn signals stay red so I had to stop and wait through the entire light cycle, then watch the lights turn red and the Cattlement lights turn green again. So, I put my car in reverse and backed up to hopefully trip the sensors again (thankfully there was no one behind me so I was able to accomplish the task) and finally tripped the sensors and got the left turn arrows to illuminate. What an unbelievably stupid light and incredibly frustrating situation when you tell the people in control of it 4 separate times only to be lied to and told that it's been fixed over and over and over when it very clearly has not considering this exact situation has happened repeatedly.

For the early morning hours (i.e. before 6:00 a.m.) can you please put this signal back to being on sensor operation? It was like this at the end of last year and it was wonderful. Also, if you'll notice by the image, this is a T intersection. The image is taken facing east on Webber. Webber does NOT continue on the other side of Cattlemen. However, at times, someone on Webber will be turning right to head south and will trip the sensor and the only lights that illuminate are the solid greens to go straight. The left turn signals stay red. So, if I happen to be behind this person, they get a solid green light to go straight (you can't) or turn right (which they can do legally on red). I get stopped because the left turn signal doesn't turn green (as it should). There is no one coming from the opposite direction because the road doesn't exist and yet anyone trying to turn left has to sit there while no one moves and the light goes through its entire cycle. So, PLEASE, adjust the light so that whoever trips it activates both the solid green AND the left turn signal every time because there are always cars turning both right and left (since those are the only two directions you can go at this light) and both directions should be able to move when given a green light. Thank you!

Can the sensors please be turned back on? This light was absolutely fine for the last few months - especially in the early morning hours. Now, just before Christmas, the light was changed and now goes through the full routine (turn signals first and then straight green lights) for all directions even if no one is there. At 5:00 a.m. it is ridiculous that this light can't be on sensor and only turn if someone comes up to it! Please change it back to the way it was!

The northbound traffic on Beneva Road gets skipped at the Beneva Rd/Bee Ridge traffic signal routinely (I have noticed it 4 times within the last week). Something is wrong with the signal. The southbound traffic gets a turn signal and light and then the East-Westbound traffic gets a green again without having the northbound traffic move at all.

An approximately 1/4 mile stretch of Bahia Vista from just east of McIntosh Rd. to Sherwood Forest Dr. is pitch black. Every single light pole is out for the entire stretch and has been for about a month now. This is extremely dangerous for walkers and bikers as there is no light whatsoever and there are areas of storm debris and glass that could be very hazardous.

The lines on the east side of the intersection of Cattlemen and Bahia Vista are almost totally gone. There is almost no way to discern lanes and there is a left turn lane to turn south onto Cattlemen, plus two lanes to go west on Bahia Vista. I have seen several issues of cars not knowing there were two lanes (because there are no lines anymore) and thus block both lanes by pulling directly in the middle of these lanes.
  • 4725-4799 South Beneva Road Sarasota, Florida - South Gate Ridge
The traffic light for people turning left onto Proctor Rd heading east is only 5 seconds long. During school hours, especially, there are over 15 vehicles constantly filling the left turn lane. Several of these people make u-turns at this light and the road is very narrow so they have to make their turn slowly. Thus, I have seen it where a total of 3 vehicles make it through the left turn signal. There is then a passive green, but the traffic is typically so heavy on Beneva northbound that no other cars get through. The typical number of cars to get through that light during the left turn signal is 5 and sometimes 6 or 7 if people run the yellow / red. Can this left turn arrow PLEASE be extended to at least 15 seconds! That would really increase the number of vehicles that make it through the left turn - especially during school drop off / pickup every weekday. Thank you!
  • Webber Street @ Cattlemen Sarasota, Florida - Sarasota Springs
This is a "T" intersection with two lanes to turn left, a single lane for future straight traffic (but there is not a possibility of going straight now as there is no road on the other side) and one lane to turn right. The issue is that if there is no one in either of the left turn lanes when the signal timing comes around, the left turn arrows do not turn green but the solid green for straight through traffic lights up. Who does this do any good for? The people turning right can turn right on red so it doesn't really help them. And, if someone DOES want to turn left, they technically can't because both left turn arrows are RED even though there isn't any traffic coming from the opposite direction - and won't be since there is no other side of the road! So, anyone turning left has to sit through the entire cycle of solid green that is doing nothing for anyone and then wait through the long north/south traffic cycle as well. This is just a complete waste of everyone's time. Can the signal please be set to have the left turn arrows ALWAYS go on and stay on for the entire duration of the cycle. Having the solid green only doesn't help anyone. Thank you!
