Missed our glass recycling

Jersey city sanitation dumpster trucks are flying up this block even though there’s a sign that says no trucks over 4 tons. This has been going on for weeks. There is no construction that’s preventing them from using Palisades, which is the street they’re supposed to be on. It’s just that it’s easier for them to take a left at the top of Webster than it is on Palisade. But this activity is dangerous and illegal.

Many neighbors that I have spoken with while walking around collecting signatures are heartily in favor of installing a traffic calming, speed bump. Once I collect all 30 signatures where do I drop it off?

These 2 soft dumpster bags have been sitting on the street like this for 4 days. People have been picking through them, litter has been blowing around. Provisions have to be instituted by Jersey City to require that these new soft dumpster bags are sealed if they are to sit on the street for so many days. Additionally there is so much cardboard here that could be recycled by owner of property.

This house has been vacant for several months. Recently the parking space in front of the house is being used 24 hours by someone who doesn’t live there. Today I witnessed that person arguing with a neighbor about his right to park there. This seems to be a commercial situation, with this car now parking there. Our neighborhood is not zoned for that.

This is not a speed hump request. A speed hump was recently installed on Webster Ave. Yeah!! Thank you! Except the minor amounts of painted warning in the street is not enough to warn drivers of an upcoming hump . All day and night we hear people bottoming out as they zoom over it. I have seen yellow street painting or larger amounts of painted surfaces in other neighborhoods in JC and Union City, that achieve better results with calming traffic speed. Is it possible to repaint this area with more noticeable cautionary signage?

6” high, 10” wide metal thing protruding up from sidewalk. It has been like this for years. It is a dangerous hazard, I can’t imagine how many people have tripped over it already. At night, it’s color makes it nearly invisible. Please remove it or cover it adequately.

Lately, at least once a week I need to call downtown to tell them about a missed recycling pick up. Additionally, I spend more time every week cleaning up the sidewalk mess left by the recycling trucks. What can be done about the awful company who handles our recycling?

What is this dangerous thing sticking up at the edge of the sidewalk? I just tripped over it, and made a full face plant into Washington street, at the south east corner of Montgomery, in front of the post office. I am glad that traffic was stopped for JCMUA construction. What city agency leaves this kind of dangerous stuff on the sidewalk? This is ridiculous.

neighbors are complaining about overgrown bushes and trash left in tall grass. cars drive up, think it’s an abandoned building and deposit garbage.

My neighbor called ahead to see if putting out broken furniture would be within the sanitation pick up, sanitation said yes. Sanitation did not pick it up Wednesday night. I called Thursday, they said they would send somebody out. This is Friday and it still hasn’t been picked up

Are lightweight motorcycles/scooters street legal? They don't have license plates, so I imagine that people don't need a license to drive them? They are zooming all around the side streets surrounding Washington Park at all times of the night and day, frequently going the wrong way. I was nearly run over by one while crossing the street. In addition, the tremendous amount of continuous noise they make when they are cruising can be deafening.

House has been in a state of half renovation for months. Numerous neighbors on New York Avenue are complaining about nails and tar paper flying into their yard with every gust of wind. Next door neighbor says she can't plant a garden becasue she knows when/if they come back to work on the house they will destroy the garden. Additionally there are large plastic containers in yard full of water, breeding mosquitos. House is a public hazard, eyesore and potential squatter opportunity.
