There has been a constant humming noise coming from the Burger King drive-through, that neighbors are hearing 1.1 miles away, including indoors, with windows closed, day and night.

It was initially suspected that the noise was coming from the industrial area, such as Barnhill, or the bowling alley, but it did not seem to be coming from that direction. Instead, it seemed to be coming from the large church, Providence; but once on foot in the church parking lot, it was coming from the vicinity of the Glenwood Ave and Pleasant Valley intersection.

Thinking it was an electrical transformer in need of service, the noise was tracked closer, but was still coming from across the street, on Glenwood. Of all places, this constant hum, has been coming from Burger King, in the mechanical area within the drive-through.

Standing next to the restaurant, one would never guess that noise would carry 1.1 miles - and especially not through our walls, and into our homes - but sure enough, it is doing just that. It is in dire need of service, and is probably just a simple electrical issue or mechanical repair. None of the other drive-through restaurants in the area are making a noise such as this (*Chick-Fil-A, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Panera, etc). Burger King is the sole offender; and considering this is a 24 hour location, it takes quite a toll, when this is being heard while sleeping, including while wearing 33dB ear plugs(and often having the A/C on as well).

    Please assist.

*To best be heard from a distance, inspection should be done outside of busy traffic hours. Around 9pm, such as the time of writing this, it is very apparent. Just stand in the church parking lot, on the side closest to Triangle Auto Care, and it will be evident. The neighborhood just behind, Hamstead Crossing, which is separated from the industrial area by Delta Lake, is where it is traveling to. The sound has not been traced past this neighborhood, but could be traveling farther, if one began isolating it here, and then walking down Duraleigh, towards the quarry.

It would be a huge help to get this noise to stop. It is 24 hours; and if the other drive-through locations aren't making a similar noise, then one can only conclude that such a noise is not vital to its respective mechanical component in order for the location to function.
