There is a pothole that needs to be repaired. It is located between the
homes of 7 Astor Place and 9 Astor Place, this is close to the curb. The cross streets are Astor Place and Summit Avenue.

The garbage has not been collected for several days. It is now overflowing.
Please have someone from the City of Jersey City or their outsourced entity, as it is a huge mess.

So that this does not become an ongoing concern; please return the garbage bins that have been removed from the corner of Clifton Place and Summit Avenue. In addition, replace the refuse bin to the corner of 1 Astor Place. These additional bins were removed a year ago under the guise of new City trash bins to come, which appears to have been a lie. We pay substantial local and state taxes and we do not want the streets to look like a pigsty. Many thanks.

Second request. This garbage was and is placed next to the curb. The previous photo was an old photo, just illustrating that the haulers did not collect the garbage last night, July 21st. It is not the 1st time and sure it is not the last. However, it would behoove you not to close out a taxpayer's complaint in a frivolous manner, as if we do not know where the refuge should be placed for collection. The issue is with the haulers. Maybe the City of Jersey City needs to return to collecting residential refuge during the day and there would be less oversight!

My plastic recyclables were not collected last night (7/11/19)
  • 15 Astor Pl Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - McGinley Square

Cardboard recyclables have not been collected once again. Plastics recyclables were collected last night but the pictured were not.

There are so many postings of uncollected items on this portal in Jersey City, it may be time to change the outsourced collection company or revert to collecting garbage in the day time, because this is ridiculous. In addition, as we wait for the City MUA to come out, the residents can be fined by the City of Jersey City for having garbage outside. Waste of time and patience.

Once again the cardboard recyclables were not collected. This is becoming a weekly occurrence, either for me or nearby neighbors. Last night the collected plastics and left the cardboard recyclables. To say it is annoying doesn’t truly paint the picture. The items are in clear bags, so they can be distinctly seen at night and I leave the light on. The solution might be to revert to collecting all garbage and recyclables in the day, so the collectors are awake and truly attentive or should we say the hell with the environment because recycling in Jersey City with the current contracted collection company is too damn monotonous.

Please send a unit to collect this garbage, before a representative from the City of Jersey City sees a bag in front of my house and remits a ticket/fine for having garbage in front of my house. I will then have to spend my time at the municipal court house defending my innocence from a costly fine.

The street drains were implemented prior to 2005. They have not been unclogged for more than a decade/since inception. Every major rain or snow with rain the drains commence to overflow to the sidewalk, encroaching on the homes and the basements all along Astor Place and Summit Avenues to Astor Place and Park Streets.

This dead tree was cut and removed, however the dead tree stump/trunk remains and should be removed, so a new tree can be installed. Location is 15 Astor Place.
  • 5 Astor Place And 7 Astor Place Jersey City, New Jersey - McGinley Square
The dead Cherry tree has been infected by a fungus, as others have been infected on the Astor Place block and needs to be cut down and the trunk be removed. The owner does not reside at the home and does not seem aware of the problem, as this has culminated over the past 2 years. Large branches/limbs have fallen during inclement weather and nearly hurt a pedestrian. The tree is located between 5 Astor Place and 7 Astor Place, near the corner of Summit Avenue.
  • Summit Avenue And Astor Place Jersey City, New Jersey - McGinley Square

The municipal garbage bin that was located at the corners of Summit Avenue and Astor Place was removed approximately 2 weeks ago. A new trash and recycling bin is planned for the location, however in the interim the neighborhood is being plighted with trash on the ground. It is nonsensical to remove the old bib and not install the new bin simultaneously.

Please return a temporary bin until the new 2 in 1 garbage and recycle bin is installed.

Abandon house, possibly for sale. No upkeep of the front yard. Grass and trees have grown so high that the front of the house looks like you are enter the woods from a main street property. Where has the City of Jersey City been?

The traffic signal box has been left open for numerous days at the corner of Fairmount Avenue and Summit Avenue.
  • Summit Avenue And Astor Place Jersey City, New Jersey - McGinley Square
The electronic switching system for the traffic light, at Astor Place and Summit Avenue has a very prolonged wait. Currently, drivers are waiting close to 3 to 4 minutes for the traffic light to change, when you are waiting on the Astor Place portion of the traffic light. This is creating a long line of motorist cueing at the light.
