Does the City have a new street sweeping policy or contractor? It's 4am and for the last year+ by citizen request, the sweeper came after 7am to be in compliance with the VB noise ordinance and to be considerate of citizens. It goes both directions, so just when you start to go back to sleep, here it comes again. Please revisit this and hold off the sweeping until 7am.

It's bad enough private trash trucks are back to violating before 7am pickups along Atlantic (1:30 am, 3am so far tonight ...). Can anything be done about them?

Huge pothole after leaving the private property of Hilltop closest to Wachovia bank coming out of the shopping center. It’s a real tire eater.

Although the landscaping is beautiful at the “Boardwalk Gateway” between the 31st St. Hilton and Neptune Park, the grasses and other plantings are obstructions. Pedestrians walking to the boardwalk have limited visibility to see if bikes are coming in the bike path and vice versa. It doesn’t matter if a bike is going slow, children and even adults who were walking slowly will often speed up right when I get to the bike path, darting out. If the bikes could see them that would be great and people could see the bikes, win-win. Fewer close calls.

Please consider revising the landscaping to be more cut back close to the bike path and walkway, for at least 3 to 5 feet.

Since this is not a public roadway, it didn’t make sense to call traffic engineering. But when I have called them to tell them the visibility is blocked on the road because of landscaping, be at on private property or city property, they have trimmed it back or replaced it. I hope the same can happen here.

This light, for turning left onto southbound Pacific, used to have a reasonable sensor that would trigger the n/s stop after a few minutes so we could make the left turn. Since the snowstorm (or before?) sitting there waiting to turn left is no guarantee the sensor will trigger the light for us. Sometimes if you pull up, then reverse, then forward into the crosswalk the sensor will know you are there. Woe be it if there's someone behind you also waiting to turn and you can't do the forward/backward thing. Sometimes the sensor doesn't trigger at all, and you (and person/people behind you) have to turn right/north then make a u-turn to go south. Either way is less safe than if the sensor worked. This will be a nightmare if not fixed when warm weather returns and spring/summer approaches.

Private company trash truck picking up dumpster at EAT restaurant and beeping loudly just now, 2:25 am. Neighbors have called trash co. directly to complain, reminding them trash pickup not allowed at these hours. Neighbor who called used to own local trash co. so he knows it's not allowed. The calls have not helped, trash still being picked up overnight. They're there less than 5 minutes, usually between 2 and 5am, which is too short to call the police to intercept them. Please help, no one should have to be woken up by illegal trash pickup!!!

Street sweeping is taking place before 7am in the 40th Street area. The noise it makes seems just at the level the noise ordinance refers to as not being allowed before 7. Can you please request they come after 7 only? They've been as early as 5:45am. Since we still get street noise of revelers until 1am some nights, it would be nice not to have a city vehicle waking us up too early. From 37th -> north you're getting into the residential areas. Thanks.
