On Venice Ave by TJ Carneys, the two landscaped areas adjacent to the crosswalk (as well as the gutter along the curb by all their tables) is being used as an ashtray- littered with cigarette butts. It looks really shabby. They need to clean up the mess their patrons are making and put out some butt buckets.

Huge slash pine just cut down at 333 Sorrento. This pile of debris is blocking the sidewalk. In addition, in the middle of the Nolen pathway between Sorrento and Serata St. they left a pile of large cut up pieces of the trunk that is blocking the path.

Sophia, the roughly 3' tall statue of the little girl at Venice Ave and Nokomis Ave, is missing. It was there yesterday. It has been ripped from its base, apparently stolen?

The sidewalk in front of Kilwins is a disgrace, full of ice cream droppings. Aren't businesses required to power wash their sidewalks every so often? Just up the street the sidewalk in front of Venice Creamery is kept immaculate. Kilwins needs to clean up their mess.

On the S side of the Venice Museum about 40' E of Nassau St along the driveway to the back of the Community Center a sprinkler head is broken and a geyser of water is shooting up, draining to the street and wasting a ton of potable water.

This is the former Venice Hospital parking lot bounded by San Marco, Riviera and Sovrano roads. This pix was taken on 8/19 when I first reported this overgrown mess. It is now much worse- the grass is at least a foot tall and twice that in some spots. I know it was assigned to a CRO. Is the owner going to take care of this or can he be cited and sent to the magistrate?

The former Venice Hospital parking lot on Riviera St is being allowed to deteriorate and become overgrown. The entire periphery of the former hospital property needs to be inspected and cleaned up, to include RT 41, San Marco, Nokomis, Palermo, Riviera, and Sovrano Rd. It is rapidly becoming a neglected eyesore.

Just saw the see-click re: dirty sidewalks on Venice Ave. Absolutely agree! Every restaurant/ice cream shop/bakery/gelato store should be required to power wash every month, especially the restaurants that have tons of tables outdoors and pay nothing for the privilege. The one bright spot is Venice Ave Creamery- always power washes his sidewalks and the benches- doesn't wait for the city. Thanks to him!

Property adjoins 544 Nokomis which is in process with Building Dept. Separate property, same owner. It fronts Sovrano St. although address is Riviera st. Building and grounds in terrible condition for years. No one lives there.

This abandoned building has been rotting away for several years now. Right after hurricane Ian went through the building dept finally red tagged it. How long before this gets sent to the magistrate and the condition addressed?
