I understand there are many people who feel the need to beg for money--and during the Holiday Season they probably earn a lot more money. But the fellow standing at the exit to the Hudson Mall on Rt 440 made me feel very threatened as he followed my car, kept commenting on why I should give him money, haranguing me, standing VERY close to my car--and making me fearful he was about to escalate the situation. I kept trying to creep away from him--but the light was red and I had no where to go. This fellow is clearly able to stand, walk, and spend hours on his feet--qualities he might use during gainful employment. It is one thing to ask for money--but out of bounds to get nasty and forceful if people choose not to pay up. He was scary--and maybe he needs to be reminded no one is REQUIRED to pay him.

The light goes off and on all night long. This was already supposedly "fixed" by PSE&G but it is NOT FIXED. It needs to be looked at again.

Large, square, deep pot hole next to the curb at 634 Tonnele Ave. Directly in front of a white, empty building with For Sale sign on it.

Two or more large pot holes at the South East corner of Carlton and Tonnelle Ave...one of them right where the metal drain meets the asphalt. Very large defect that totally captured my rear right wheel during a turn. I actually got STUCK in the pothole! I am sure these get worse during heavy rains.

The overhead light on Liberty Ave at the corner of Beach Street is not working.

Large pothole on Tonnelle, northbound, middle of the roadway, just where you cannot avoid it without risking hitting another car.
It is located just south of the Days Inn.

Will trash collection be done tonight? I am not seeing any notices that it will NOT be done. Just want to be sure. I know our city workers have lots to do tonight...

Discolored water from the taps

As a responsible citizen, I am trying to understand this unnecessarily complex Primary Election Mail-In Ballot system. Twice on the "Important Notice" instruction page there is reference to "secure drop box" locations where one can leave these ballots if you prefer. But no where can you find information on where these drop boxes are. Not all regular mail boxes are secure--we have seen many mail boxes vandalized in recent times. A secure drop box might seem like a good idea--if such a thing actually exists. Does anyone have accurate information on them?
And just another comment on the ballot system itself. The instructions are exceedingly complex, in small type, or very confusing. Seal this, but don't detach that. Sign this--but not that. Or your vote will not be counted or you could be fined and imprisoned.... Sheesh. Now THIS is voter suppression of a different sort.

There appears to be fellow running a car repair shop out of the garage attached to 130 Beach Street. This residential area is not zoned for this, and here it is, MIDNIGHT! and he is still out there with two cars running and revving with their exhaust fumes stinking up the neighborhood. His customers routinely take up the few parking spots that are available to the residents of the block. They often double park, blocking the street, and he has equipment lying all over the street and the block extending well beyond his garage opening. He has taken over the curb space in front of several other properties, and this is not fair and needs to be shut down. I worry that he may know who is complaining about him--and may retaliate by damaging my car.

A sinkhole is developing about 10 feet from the eastern curb. This started after heavy rains earlier this week. I think this area was repaired in the past but the rains have undercut the whole area.
It is now about the size of a manhole cover and getting deeper.

There is a deep Pothole adjacent to a manhole cover at the Southwest corner of Manhattan and Kennedy Blvd. All vehicles making right turns from Manhattan onto KB are forced into the pothole. You can't avoid it without risking hitting the cars in the adjacent lane.

I have searched the City of JC web site looking for just a simple answer: is there going to be street sweeping and alternate side parking enforcement today and tomorrow? This seems to be a big secret. Anyone know the answer?
Wouldn't it be nice to broadcast this info--which so many people need--clearly right at the home page?
