Recently, I requested an inspection of a drainage problem involving the curbing in front of my driveway where water runoff is "pooling" after neighborhood irrigation and rain storms. (I misplaced the original work request #) In response, Mr. Fred Flowers with Pinellas County came to my house, took a look at the situation and determined the roots of a large oak tree (belonging to Pinellas County) was pushing up the curbing in front of my house and as a result, preventing irrigation/rain water from being able to flow into the storm sewer nearby. Fred was very helpful and informative but informed me the ultimate solution would require installing a very expensive concrete structure which would impact the roadway, my driveway, etc. - we both agreed it was not a practical solution. However, I would still like to request the County consider cutting out the roots at or below the curbing near the base of the oak tree and allowing the curb to resettle to its original height so that water can drain off to the storm sewer nearby. Please note: I'm not asking for the tree to be removed - only to have the root problem fixed. My phone number is 618-615-7728.
    Thank you,
