Contractor on South Willard between Bayview and Howard left a mess after sidewalk replacement. The damage extends all the way down the block. The were working late in the year and just threw all the dirt they excavated onto the green belt, raising the level of the surface, creating mounds and rough, hardpan surfaces. They threw some token grass seed on top, in November and that was that.

They dug into our front lawns, as well at the green belt, leaving trenches without filling in the damage. They dug up our stone or brick landing spots, making it impossible to get from the street to the sidewalk because of the newly mounded greenbelt and the huge piles of snow thrown up by the road plows and the sidewalk plows. There is no sidewalk on the other side of South Willard Street and therefore no place for anyone to cross to! Where some neighbors have not replaced their torn up access, there is just plain mud.

The excess dirt in the greenbelt needs to be hauled away. The scraped and dug out sections eating into our lawns are an eyesore and require raking, good topsoil and grass seed - not the kind that brings in witchgrass. Nothing will grow in the greenbelt without some real repair.

  • 1530 North Avenue Burlington, VT - Burlington Electric
There is an orange construction barrel on North Ave, right at the intersection of Fairmont Place and Loaldo Drive. It’s on the double yellow lines right in the middle of North Ave. There is a very small pothole on the yellow lines, which doesn’t necessitate an orange barrel. Where it’s placed makes it very awkward to turn into Fairmont. Can this be removed, if possible? Or let the community know what it's for?
