The left lane on Taft St northbound at W. Dallas is Left Turn Only. it is marked on the pavement, but markings are heavily darkened by traffic and invisible once one or two cars are in the lane. northbound cars constantly drive straight from the left lane—causing a dangerous and inefficient abrupt merge into the single northbound lane north of W. Dallas. (multiple accidents have resulted.) an overhead “Left Turn Only” sigh (or similar) on the signal will clarify the traffic rule and improve safety, particularly important as this intersection is adjacent to an HISD campus.
