    Because UDOT wanted to save money when State highway 68 was widened in front of my house they realigned the road which took away a protective park strip in front of my house. Now there is nowhere for snow to go when the plows come by except into my fence and front yard after crossing the sidewalk. This has been an issue since the road was widened. This year has been especially bad with the large snow amounts. While I was out of town these plows apparently at a high rate of speed blow 3-4 lanes of heavy salt laden ice and snow into my fence and front yard.

    I live at 3065 west 11400 south on state highway 175 in South Jordan. When the road was widened several years ago UDOT bought a portion of my property for a utility right of way. On this right of way is a piece of grass with a South Jordan sprinkler system on it. Over the years South Jordan has refused to maintain it because of the safety fence that UDOT installed around the corner. I have been maintaining this piece, which hasn't been a problem since SOJO has been watering it. This year they have completely shutoff any water to it. I have contacted them twice and apparently someone on their crew is refusing to turn the sprinklers on. It's not very large and I haven't minded mowing and trimming it. I called SOJO a few years ago about full maintenance and why they don't take care of it since it is like the park strips. A very rude person called me back and said they will not care for it because there was a fence around the corner of it. This fence was installed by UDOT for safety reasons. At this point since SoJo is refusing to even put a little water on it I'm refusing to care for it anymore. This is on UDOT property with SoJo sprinkler system. I guess I'll just have to wait until the upscale Tara Woods community to start calling SoJo ordinance and complain about it not being maintained.

    On Sept 11th a vehicle crashed at this address (3065 w 11400 so) and knocked down a UDOT vinyl barrier fence on the UDOT right of way in front of our house. This fence was installed by UDOT for safety to keep pedestrians from stepping off the sidewalk to a two foot drop. Your UDOT representative Elainey told us she couldn't do anything till she got a police report. After not hearing from her and us getting and sending her a police report, she doesn't respond to our calls or messages. The insurance company won't pay a claim to us to repair it because they say it does belong to UDOT. It's been two weeks and we have a very unsightly mess that no one seems to want to take responsibility to repair.
