These plastic car/bike lane dividers have been sheared off the road again. This issue has been fixed at least twice recently but this problem keeps recurring. Notice that although the base of these dividers have 4 or 8 installation holes, but only 2 bolt anchors are used to hold the post to the road surface. Now I’m not an engineer, but I would think that using more anchors would distribute the load a lot better, reducing the chances of this kind of shear damage.

Due to light locations and tree/vegetation growth, the sidewalk in this area can be very dark at night. In addition, the sidewalk is not entirely flat, level and is interrupted by tree wells. A review for light on the sidewalk may be warranted.

The location of the pedestrian traffic light call button is very close to the traffic. Traffic seems to funnel down this newly constructed road bends at speed, especially at office rush hours. The intersection of new traffic lights, roads, lanes and turns makes this area especially confusing. Several times a day car tires can be heard impacting the curb resulting in punctures or lost hub caps (see photo). Car fender bumpers occur fairly frequently as well. As this area has commonly a wait area for school children to wait for the crossing light, this can be an unsafe condition as the waiting and button area is close to traffic. Many times, cars can be seen driving on the new bike path.
