Speed bump and signage for this street please
  • Harding Place New Haven, Connecticut - Newhallville

Can someone from public works just let us know how much trash has to be in the bin for them to collect it? No trash picked up for at least two weeks. Aside from the "attractiveness" of it, and the "wonderful" smell now squirrels are digging into it - will that be our fault too? Just asking if you could spare a few minutes and actually pick up our trash we do pay taxes too you know.

    Thanks

Not sure what it is but for the second consecutive night what sounds like an explosion sounded off, twice.

It's getting hotter and the trash is not being collected. They picked it up knocked over the other bins and put it back, leaving flies and refuse. I'm sure that's still in the budget.

Our trash, once again goes uncollected. I literally stood here and watched the trash be collected from two houses one from the top of the street and another at the end of the street and that was it - what exactly am I paying taxes for? Then the complaint would be that front yards are dirty, really?

I am asthmatic. Now I have no way in or out because someone decided to ignore the do not block drive way sign. After trying to unblock the driveway the plows rammed the snow back on to us. If I needed to go to the doctor there's no way my car could make it out. What am I really paying taxes for?

Two people decided to park on the odd side of the house one of the vehicles I know belongs to the landlord. Why weren't their cars towed? I've seen people given tickets for parking in front their house for five minutes as they ran in to get something. Now everyone must suffer because two people disobeyed and no one from the city seems to care because they didn't tow them. We can't get out because all the snow got piled up on the driveway. This is beyond ridiculous.

Is it too much to ask that streets, including side streets such as Harding Place be properly plowed? If the City of New Haven does not find it significant to plow all roads including those which are predominantly occupied by the working class, then why would landlords be inclined to do the same? The school buses, emergency responders, and locals have a tough time navigating the roads because even when it's 1-3 inches, left unattended, that snow turns into an ice rink. Over the past few days, I watched neighbors almost fall while trying to go to their cars etc. Can ALL New Haven streets be included in the City budget please? I do pay taxes for a reason, I think.
