Around 750am it is a standstill because traffic is created when cars on route 9 north decide they can’t wait and go to far left lane where merging ramp (merging traffic) is, this lane ends and everyone knows it so it makes the middle lane stop and let cars merge where the lane ends. where as if people stayed in their lane and let the merging ramp merge it would only be a couple of cars trying to merge and not make stand still traffic. However it is also very dangerous because those who are already on 9 north try and get into the far left lane they are going below the speed limit or is completely stopped since it’s standstill traffic and the merging ramp traffic is going the speed limit so one car pulls out and the merging traffic slam on the brakes. Also usually those who try and get into the ending left lane wait until the last minute to get into the right lane to take the ccsu exit which creates even more traffic and also dangerous because they slam on their brakes and holds everyone else up since nobody lets them in, blocking all lanes of traffic. How to fix this? Install those traffic stick dividers, I think they’re called delineators up to the point where it wouldn’t make sense to people go into the far left lane that ends and so only cars trying to merge can use that lane to merge creating a better flow of traffic, not sure how to fix people waiting last minute to take ccsu exit from left lane
