    This is wrong. This is illegal. This is unacceptable. I had to classify this as "OTHER" because I wasn't sure if it should go under: abandoned bikes or animal control or building without a permit or encampment park or homeless camp or housing violation or lawn damage or needle pickup or police issue or rat problem (yes, I saw a rat) or trash/littering or tree/limb broken. Is this what we want Portland to look like? The park across the bridge in South Portland looks like a park; this looks like a dump. Perhaps all of the residents of the West End should drop their purple bags of here and see if the city will pick them up. I'm a fairly new resident to the West End (this is actually a few feet from where I live) and I am disgusted by the inaction of the city to handle this problem. I cannot imagine what the lifelong residents are feeling. They had to fight to get this park established after the new bridge was built. Now it's a garbage dump. Shame on City Hall. My mayoral vote will go the the candidate who makes this the top issue facing Portland.

    There is a lot of transphobic and homophobic 'litter' - small slip of paper - on the sidewalk by the Portland Museum of Art on High Street as well as on Spring Street (sidewalk and road) between High and Park Street. Not very visitor friendly (or resident for that matter).
