    Signage (a sandwich board and sign on house) in front of this licensed vacation rental on August 26, 2018. Signage is not permitted as per bylaw:

    “”VACATION RENTAL means the licensed use ofa dwelling unit as temporary lodging (less than 30 days at any one time) for paying guests. Vacation rental use is restricted to a total of no more than 120 days per calendar year. The maximum occupancy shall be calculated based on two adults per licensed bedroom with a total maximum of two licensed bedrooms per dwelling unit. No signage shall be permitted. The property owner is to provide a contact number for themselves or a representative located within the City and available 24 hours a day. The contact number is to appear on the Business License posted in the Vacation Rental Unit.”
    I should think that someone who is operating a vacation rental legally would abide by ALL rules. I reported this last year and noticed recently that there is still signage. This issue needs to be assigned to bylaw enforcement!

    Advertising themselves as not a usual B&B... of course it's not, it's a vacation rental.
    According to the City of Revelstoke bylaw 1854:
    “BED AND BREAKFAST means the licensed use of a detached dwelling by a resident of the dwelling for the provision of temporary lodging of paying guests in not more than four guest rooms in the dwelling and the serving of a morning meal to such guests, and includes the use of common living and dining areas in the dwelling by such guests. Bed and Breakfast use is prohibited in conjunction with a Secondary Suite.”
    No secondary suite means that the guest of the B&B are being hosted by the owner/operator are using the the same living-room and dining-room.

    After having his vacation rental rezoning application defeated Mr. Ron Hubbard applied and was granted by the City a bed and breakfast license. Incredible! The City appears to actually be enabling these people!
    According to the City of Revelstoke bylaw 1854:

    The owner or an operator must be living on the premises while his guests are there. Mr. Hubbard does not live in Revelstoke and there is no operator living on site.

    According to the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 Mr. Pettinetti-Cadotte stated that he would only operate his vacation rental Big Bear Chalet from Dec 1 to Apr 30.

    If this vacation rental rented out every night this would add up to much more than the 120 permitted by Revelstoke’s bylaw 2177 which states:

    “”VACATION RENTAL means the licensed use of a dwelling unit as temporary lodging (less than 30 days at any one time) for paying guests. Vacation rental use is restricted to a total of no more than 120 days per calendar year. The maximum occupancy shall be calculated based on two adults per licensed bedroom with a total maximum of two licensed bedrooms per dwelling unit. No signage shall be permitted. The property owner is to provide a contact number for themselves or a representative located within the City and available 24 hours a day. The contact number is to appear on the Business License posted in the Vacation Rental Unit.”

    Furthermore, Mr. Pettinetti-Cadotte advertises on his website that he rents out the two bedroom unit above the garage in the summer which is referred to as Big Bear Loft and sleeping 5:

    Are the citizens of Revelstoke suppose to be fooled into thinking that as long as he’s not renting out the same unit in the summer, it doesn’t count towards the 120 days permitted. In fact, Mr. Pettinetti-Cadotte is operating two (2) vacation rentals!

    So they applied for a Bed and Breakfast license and have been “pretending” to run a fully licensed Bed and Breakfast. It’s very obvious from their ad that they are still operating as a vacation rental:

    Burgundy GMC truck and camper bc license plate LV3717 has been camping at this location every night for several weeks. Today around 9:00am I saw him come out of his camper and urinate on the sidewalk beside his vehicle. This is unacceptable bevaviour.
