2nd complaint!!! So at 5:03am, the garbage truck comes by and pounds the medium sized garbage cans over into the truck. It sounds like the explosions on the arsenal but much closer. There is absolutely no way everyone at these apartments and homes don't wake up to this. The address is picked from the map, but behind homes at 2506 & 2508 Rileys Pass.
Here is the company based on the sign on the garbage bins. https://www.wasteawaydumpster.com/ 256-755-7543

The location pinpointed on the map is not a good design, as northbound traffic on the parkway can easily move to the left turning lane to turn left onto Mastin Lake, yet it is only designed to turn beforehand. The same left lane extends to the intersection giving it the illusion that it is safe to drive until you approach the curb that extends into the lane. It isn't well lit if lighting is present at all. I followed my brother-in-law driving my parents to their home when they nearly went over the curb. I've done just that as well.
  • 169 Sparkman Drive Northwest Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
The red light is changing extremely fast and allows only 1 or 2 cars to turn onto Technology dr. heading west. I sat at the light through 2 light changes.
  • 225 Wynn Drive Northwest Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
The traffic waits for the light to turn green when there isn't any traffic turning onto Bradford heading east. It appears the light changes quickly for all directions, except for the delay on Wynn heading north.

  • Bob Wallace Avenue Southwest Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville

The traffic signal for traffic crossing Sparkman Dr/Bob Wallace Ave heading to the I-565 on-ramp changes within a few seconds often. This often only allows 5-7 cars to go through the intersection and it's usually backed up 15-20 cars around 4:30-5:30pm. It used to be perfectly timed with the preceding lights.

PS. if this is a state issue, please don't forward me the link. You send them the link with my info. I don't get income from this reporting, which I do often. If you do send it, then report it here as well or email me the results. thanks.

  • 928 Old Big Cove Road Owens Cross Roads, Alabama - US Congressional District AL5

I understand the City is planning on widening Cecil Ashburn Dr. and can't decide whether keeping it open or closed is the major issue. I have 1 suggestion that would improve the traffic flow right now.
Improve the traffic light sequence at the Old Big Cove Rd / Cecil Ashburn dr intersection. Its not set to allow the traffic flow to continue eastward decent heading to MTN Cove/Taylor Rd intersection. That too, should be strongly changed for key times of day.
Perhaps at the Old Big Cove intersection create a roundabout. Roundabouts supposedly reduce injury crashes by 75%.

Doing this will stop the slow flow at peak times.

There needs to be real-time traffic signal regarding backed up traffic in the far right lane on I-565 east bound. It could be positioned at the Triana Blvd overpass and perhaps another further east.

People are afraid to drive 30 MPH on the exit ramp merging onto the Parkway South bound lanes. The problem with that is, people are afraid to move to the left lane on the parkway giving a better flow to merging traffic. The other bigger problem is people are trying to exit at Clinton or Governors Drive.

Everyday or so, there is a fender bender (last week - bumper knocked off) to the more serious (traffic stopped in right lane, causing someone to skid out of control, fishtail into my lane just as I passed, witnessing them get slammed by an 18 wheeler in the same lane. EVERYDAY, traffic is less than at a 10 mph speed (or stopped) at rush hour.

The state needs to be corrected, yesterday!

They can increase the speed of the Parkway ramp 5 mph (to 35mph or even 40mph). They could put a sign on the south bound parkway area telling people to move over if headed south.

They can also make the 2nd right lane on I565, dedicated with signage for exiting North Parkway rather than everyone getting in the 1 lane to go south or North at the parkway. This would lessen the amount of traffic in the far right lane somewhat. Change the sign at the Triana BLVD Overpass as well.

I would send pictures of all the skid marks in that lane leading up to the parkway, but this sight only allows 1 upload.

All of this is a poor design and didn't count on Huntsville's growth apparently.

Everyday or so, there is a fender bender (last week - bumper knocked off) to the more serious (traffic stopped in right lane, causing someone to skid out of control, fishtail into my lane just as I passed, witnessing them get slammed by an 18 wheeler in the 2nd lane. Then other cars scrambled behind all of them some involved in the wreck). EVERYDAY it is at a stop-10 mph speed at rush hour (no rushing about it).

The state needs to fix this Yesterday!

    I can't upload more than 1 picture???
Picture included shows Triana BLVD overpass (good location for the interactive speed limit )

The other pictures showed skid marks for previous issues in that right lane.

  • Road buckled Archived
Corporate Dr Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
There is a buckled spot on Corporate dr, headed east from Vertiv (used to be Emerson), maybe 500 feet. The road is sinking just a little but is damaging the left tires if to close to the line.
  • Hobbs Rd And Memorial Parkway huntsville, al - Huntsville
The left run signal to head East on Hobbs Rd. isn't long enough during peak hours of traffic (4-6pm) as it used to be. The reason is people are slowing down to turn into the Aldi's grocery store which slows the flow enough to force people to hit the next red light. They (Aldi's) should have built a turn lane next to the main lane on Hobbs road. Also, I predict there will be an issue with the new development across from Aldi's on Hobbs road as well.
