    The fire hydrant in front of 215 Norfolk Street is hidden by trash cans every week. Can you PLEASE put a reflector on it like you have in other places? This is a disaster waiting to happen. (second request)

    The sidewalk pothole, shown filled with water, is about 3-4 inches deep.

    They picked up everyone else's trash on the block but missed mine.

    I would love to water the Japanese lilac across the street, but the "soil" is like cement and the water just runs off into the street. I tried softening the soil with a trowel, but it's REALLY like cement - you need a pick! Can you install a watering tube AND one of those watering bags?

    This morning I saw TWO GIANT RATS scurry down the large burrow in this photo on the north side of 216 Norfolk Street. All the neighbors have seen a huge number of rats all around this house - and there most be a dozen burrows there. Can you please get the owner to do something about this?

    The streetlight is on all day.

    Construction debris left on the sidewalk for about a week. DPW won't pick it up because it's construction debris.
  • 293 Broadway Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - The Port
    This is on the Norfolk Street side of this corner house. Leaves are covering sidewalk AGAIN. This is my 3rd complaint about this property - they don't remove leaves or shovel snow. Can you please have them clean the sidewalk and tell them that they need to keep their sidewalk clear of leaves, debris, snow, ice...? Thank you.

    Slipped and fell this morning on the Norfolk Street side of corner house at 293 Broadway. These folks need to keep their sidewalk clear of leaves.

    CONSTANT blocking the sidewalk and bike lane at the Senne construction site. I walk by this twice a day, and it's either blocked by trucks, unloading, deliveries, pallets, lumber, dumpsters, construction equipment, and just about anything else related to the construction. This site has plenty of yard space - they just seem to use the sidewalk as their staging area. This truck in the photo could have backed up 4 feet, but didn't seem to care about blocking the sidewalk.

    This small "green" corner of the public parking lot is full of litter, overgrown plants, weeds. Perhaps it can be cleaned up?

    This past Saturday, DPW trucks were AGAIN parked in a way that made it incredibly difficult for more than one car at a time to access the Recycling Drop-Off Center. This has been noted here before, and I know that others have complained. Yes, the yard is small, and yes, DPW needs access to their vehicles, BUT DPW needs to stop making it so hard to get to the recycling area. PLEASE -- more yard/vehicle management is needed!

    The crew working at 55-59 Norfolk Street has been blocking the sidewalk continually without any provision for pedestrians. Isn't there supposed to be a way for pedestrians to get around blocked sidewalks?
  • 253 Norfolk St Cambridge, Massachusetts - The Port
    The sidewalk next to a large tree has buckled and is now at a steep angle (which doesn't really show in this photo). I walk with a cane, and I have to walk in the street (in traffic) to get around this, as do people pushing carriages. Maybe it can be fixed with blacktop temporarily? Thanks.

    This was originally reported on 3/27/2018. (Numerous times, DPW has tried to close this report, however the problem still exists. See: https://seeclickfix.com/issues/4275734 ). The turf is being continually destroyed by DPW trucks driving over the park's surface, leaving deep ruts. Although it was leveled and reseeded, AGAIN DPW trucks have destroyed it (see photo). The solution, after repairing it again, is to please instruct DPW staff to stop driving trucks over this park's turf and to STAY ON THE PAVED SURFACE AND STAY OFF THE GRASS!

    Oversalting = Dead Trees
    Many people have complained about the ridiculous amount of oversalting in the municipal parking lot at the corner of Norfolk and Bishop Allen. The salt has now killed almost all the trees, with just one or two still alive. I'm not sure why DPW staff isn't more aware that oversalting kills trees, but all these trees should be replaced ASAP with salt-tolerant species.

    Litter - I know we have a pretty strong litter ordinance for private property. Can you get the owner(s) at 67 Norfolk St to clean up their property? It's really gross.
