  • Edgewood Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood
    There are marked pedestrian crosswalks at Edgewood and McKinley and Edgewood and Alston, but no signs. Drivers routinely speed through the crosswalks ignoring pedestrians. This has been posted about before . This morning a mom with a stroller was almost mowed down at Edgewood and McKinley. Last week I saw the same at Edgewood and Alston . Signs are needed at these crosswalks, similar to the signs that exist at chapel and Alden crosswalks— signs needed reminding drivers that there are crosswalks and that they must yield to walkers .

    There is a pedestrian crosswalk at Alston and Edgewood however there is no sign concerning the crosswalk . Cars routinely speed through this crosswalk even when there are pedestrians. Especially an issue with kids trying to cross for buses and walking to and from Hopkins. A sign alerting/reminding motorists of the crosswalk and that it is state law for them to yield is needed. This is an issue at other Westville crosswalks too but worst at Edgewood and Alston ( some of the Westville crosswalks have signs and they seem to help , issue where signs are missing ).
