This is just an FYI or a question about lower/south Sunset Park. growing up in this area and playing baseball at Sunset.....we use to call the lower area where I have placed the marker....."the Pits" after the La Brea Tar Pits. Black ooze that was always bubbling up in all the swampy pools located through out lower Sunset. This would have been in the early sixties. the story was that it was a dumping ground after the war....It was never cleaned up just filled over.
