I reside at 5829 Picardy Drive in Oakland. Early Saturday morning, around 4 a.m., Aug. 21, I heard water splashing outside so went out to check on it. On the parklet island closest to Seminary Ave. (the easternmost island) the sprinklers were on and all were working correctly except one (see photo) which was shooting water straight up, fountain-style, and all that water was running across the street down into the gutter. Having previously dealt with this kind of problem at the same island, I went to the faucet (under circular cover) and turned off the water to the sprinkler system. The water remains turned off there. The pictured sprinkler pipe is missing its spray head; please repair.

Two broken sprinkler heads on Picardy Drive parklet island -- The photo (taken about 1 a.m. on May 19, 2021) shows one of the fountains resulting from broken sprinkler heads; both are on the easternmost of the two central island parklets on Picardy Drive. The sprinklers are set (by city employees) to operate on timers. But when I saw the large volume of water being wasted as it gushed out of these two broken sprinkler outlets, running across the street and down the gutter, I went to the manual control valve for these sprinklers and turned them off, or way down, by hand. So the water has been stopped from running. Please replace the broken/missing sprinkler heads which are directly across the island from each other, and across the street from 5816 Picardy Drive. My address is 5829 Picardy Drive.
