The City DPW came through in December for random tree trimming. And instead of observing the city tree policy of working with homeowners to inform them of maintenance on their easements. The city chose to do what it wanted to do on this day.
They proceeded to cut down a small peach tree completely and had no intention of informing the homeowners who were home at the time.

Now the homeowners are being told they can't get a new tree this year because the city won't grind the stump and plant a new tree in the same year.
That sump as you can see is extremely small as you can see in the picture. This is not a giant tree stump by any measure. This stump could be easily removed to allow a new tree to start growing.

The City is also supposed to have a policy if it removes a tree it will be replaced. It doesn't say it will be replaced when the city feels like it. The homeowners put in their request by the January 31 deadline.

I think the city has to explain why its policies are not reflecting the policy as it is currently written. What happening to wanting to increase the tree canopy?

I had about 1.5 of water in the basement again.

I know it rained last night. But I am sure it wasn't helped that you didn't plow the street, so when the street was trying to drain from the rain, snow, and ice, it didn't have the proper place to go.

My section of the street always floods. It causes my lawn to be over-saturated, so when we do get additional rain, it causes water in my basement.

And before you asked, I cleaned the sewer drains multiple times.

You need to shut down that part of the sidewalk by the old O'Grady's. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen. You can't walk on the sidewalk at all, the ice is several inches thick. People trying to cross the street have no idea that a pipe burst and the ice is really bad and very unsafe to walk on. Please put up signs to tell people not to use that section of the sidewalk and then actually handle the ice that isn't going to go away on its own.

This is for the turn about that turns into Pearson St with the traffic light at St. James Church.

The street sign for the turn about was plowed into on Saturday night. The M1 sign is still standing but a car clearly ran into the sign and keep driving. The sign is laying on the median and there are cars parts laying on the ground. The sign and all that goes into it needs to replaced and the median clean up. Thank you.

This fence is clearly an illegal fence. It was a fence they picked out of the garbage. The city has issued no tickets and they will not take it down because the city has clearly not asked them to too. We have a fence ordinance do we not and this not a legal fence.

This of course not at the Rust Belt Market but in the cross walk heading east. That intersection is always bad but look at that massive hole right on the curb. Someone will break their neck on that hole. People run to get to the other side, at night you won't see it, its clearly not ADA compliant. Strollers, walkers, bikes, etc tires will drop into no problem. I don't know if anyone else has reported but it is bad.

The tree has several limbs that need to be trimmed so it can be determined if the tree can be save.

I am trying to SAVE the Tree! Please contact me as I am the home owner! I will be calling DPW on this matter so please don't ignore me. Because the tree Across the street needs to be removed!

The tree in front of the house came down in front of 326 Pearson.

This tree needs to be completely taken down now not later. If it falls it will take out the home at 326 Pearson it was inches away this time.

There are two utility poles that clearly have been abandon in front of Bubble and Bark. They clearly are not going to be installed and have been there since August!

Could the city or DTE etc... Please remove these poles! They will cause serious issues to sidewalk as snow and extra ice will build up on these poles.

THESE POLES NEED TO REMOVED ASAP! I don't know who is responsible but remove the poles! They will be a more of a hazard then they are already are!

Street light on Woodward at the intersection of Pearson needs to be replaced haven't been working for a while and it is a cross walk that is heavily used.

Please repair quickly.

The renters at 290 put there trash out in the recycling bin last week well after trash day. It has sat for over a week on the curb with all kinds of rats and squirrels. They won't pick it up today either because it is clearly trash!
Can the city please explain to the renters that is not a trash bin and that now two week old trash is a health hazard!

This home has several over grown bushes that block the sidewalk and cover their too short fence. They also have an aggressive dog that you can't see in the yard when you are walking down either way on the sidewalk because of the bushes. Yesterday I literally had to run into the street as a car was coming because their dog charged at me and my dogs at the gate. People need to be able to see if the aggressive dog is in the yard so they can stay safely away from that yard. You can see from google images they never trim their bushes.

Some one smashed up the road closure sign at W Saratoga and Woodward the bank side. The reflectors are all smash and littering the sidewalk and the metal part of sign is tip over. It seems like that is going to be hazard for all the people walking around for the Dream Cruise? Plus it should be clean up anyway.

Large limbs came down as part of the straight line winds that came down Pearson street.
Very minor compared to other neighbors but wanted to report it for the record. Will need to have the branches chopped up!

In front of the former subway this morning there was bubble up of water under the fancy bricks and a large amount of water in the right lane of Woodward. Reported to the police as directed as it was before you were open again. I think it is a small water main break of some kind hopefully you can get to before its a bigger problem.

I am reporting yet once again I had to clean out the grates and control the flooding on Sunday morning.
This would of been helped if they city could provide additional street cleaning? Which I was told no to. After the last flooded street incident on the 24 two people in golf carts marked the drains with spray painted. Really the city can't find the sewer drains and needs to mark them with a paint dot???? I should not have to stand out in the rain for every storm! This is not a controlled flooding when it only floods four house front yards EVERY RAIN!

I have reported this so may times regarding the flooding that only takes on a small section of first block of Pearson. But I have a new request. This last storm brought over four inches of rain and made the road impassable.
I call the cops to shut the street down do to safety reason. They said I am on my own. So one neighbor block the street with his own car. We as in a few neighbors were able to therefore able to more safely manage the drains. Can't the city provide a few safety cones and a road close sign? we stopped over 20 cars from coming through! Yes I have also reported this a council member!

I realized we just had the street sweeping done just a few weeks ago but we can get it to come back? We have two large Sycamore trees with their exploding bark that very close to the street drains. The trees bark becomes like Paper Mache over the drains when it rains. No water is getting through and sticks to the drains. It makes it impossible to clear the drains when its raining.

Hello could anyone tell me more about the barrier the city is building at 290 W 9 Mile Rd. It looks like is to protect someone from driving into the building? But I never saw anything about what they are building and why? The poles are buried in a metal construction box. Could the city tell me what is going and why.
